OK, here it is. I just finished watching the "Locked & Loaded" DVD. As with all Richard Sanders work, everything is well shot and the instructions are crystal clear.
Is it worth it ? ... as Richard says on the DVD : "To the laymen, the effects is EXACTLY the same" ... it is not stronger by any means and it doesn't solve a problem that wasn't there in the first place ... but for us, it allows one thing/detail that may be of importance to some (to me it is) : You can now count the bills vertically and freely, with open hands/fingers before and after the change. That's it ... but in my opinion it is a valuable option since when I perform on stage or cabaret settings, I want to keep things visible and "vertical" as much as possible. It take less than a minute to install the L&L gimmick into your existing EB set. You don't have to start from scratch, which is very nice. So basically It allows a little more freedom, but that's it. There is 2 extra handling offered by other magicians. I don't really like the first one because it adds nothing to the impact of the effect, it is only a little/tiny subtlety that some magicians may like ... but that's it. Not my cup of tea. You don't have to over-prove what they have absolutely no doubt about in the first place, in fact, I think that by using this handling, you really are giving them little clues as how it's done. .... the second one is a very good "get ready" technique which I prefer to the original one. I'm sure that a lot of EB users will use this technique in the future. To me, if you "play" less with the bills to get ready, it is worth learning it. I will use it in the future for sure. Very easy to do. So, if you already have EB and want the very best and really are into little details even if the effect will not be stronger ... just buy it. It is the optimal version of it, but it is not a big upgrade of this incredible/already perfect effect. Jack |

I should add to my former review that the L&L principle (if you use the "vertical" count that Richard teach on the DVD) completely kills the most "popular" theory (extra bills) spectators might have after the change ... they will have "nowhere to go" after the effect took place ... so, there it is, another "PROS" of L&L.

Thanks for the review. I received an email with that and I was interested because it said that you could now do the effect with every currency which wasn't possible with EB until that (or so I think I've read), being the reason why I never purchased any EB, working with euro bills.
Can you confirm that? Is it finally feasible with another currency? And do I need the original EB 2.0 or just this one? |

Hello Artemis17, you can perform EB with any currency, as long as all the bills/papers are the same size. In Canada, we now have the new plastic bills and I'm not sure they will work. With paper money, it's flawless. If you buy Lock and Loaded you'll be all set to perform it. Hope this helps. Jack

I thought Richard asked us not to discuss this in a public forum in the email that he set us.

The only thing R Sanders mentioned in his email was not to divulge what he was sending to his customers for baring with him.
For our eyes only Nothing else was mentioned to my knowledge |

Hello Taterini ... I'm well aware of what Richard asked for in his email. I really don't think that I wrote something I shouldn't ... I just wanted to answer Artemis17 question without giving too much details. I just said that "by buying Lock and Loaded you'll be all set to perform", that don't tell a lot if you ask me ... if you go into "The latest and greatest" forum here on The Café, the guys gives A LOT more details than that. I really don't think that I said anything wrong here. Peace Jack |

So can this be done paper to Australian notes? Doesn't seem clear whether this will work? The creator says any currency but the people say no aussie dollars? I want to end with the aussie dollars.
Cheers guys |

Hi pauljames ... if Aussie dollars are in paper, with no holes or "window", you can perform it without any problem. Hope this helps.

We certainly aren't the only country in the word with plastic money. Shame it really looks like a fantastic trick.) To be honest with you, I never read anywhere that you can perform this gem with plastic money. I live in Canada and we now have plastic money in replacement for the "old" paper money. I was able to find some paper money and build my gimmick with it, so everything is perfect. I never tried building it with the current plastic money but I feel that it won't work as smoothly ... maybe I'm wrong thought. I never tried. Don't forget that you're not limited to "money" with EB, you can use lottery ticket, magazines, etc. Hope this helps. Jack |
