Does anyone have this. It makes some big claims in the blurb and I'm wondering if they've made a significant improvement to the range. The previous model was no good for detecting a coin in hand but according to the video demo, this one can do that.
Here's the blurb and demo video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxNH5Y0Cdlo Minimax 2.0 the world's smallest and most sensitive magnet detector available today. We completely redesigned the Minimax gimmick with many new features and more sensitivity making this device in perfectly true to its name: Minimax - minimal size, maximum possibility. With Minimax 2.0 you have a professional detector for long-life use which brings your mental power to the next level where the only limit is your imagination. Minimax 2.0 is the ultimate tool for the mental magician and definitely a must. What is new in Minimax version 2.0? - Rechargeable battery. - USB key charger - Safety switch: switch the gimmick off for safe transportation even with the magnet product in an enclosed environment such as a pocket. - Enhanced sensitivity - Carbon body: Maximum protection for the electronic parts, even if trodden on or driven over. 10 Good reasons for using Minimax detector: 1. Smallest sensitive detector available today 2. Easy to palm or hide in different magic products like TT, Esmeralda, magic wand, pen, mouth, etc. 3. Long-life gimmick. 4. You are always ready to perform a mental miracle. 5. You can create a complete program for your performance base on Minimax. 6. Silent operation 7. Works with all magnet products like pk ring, magnet coin, spike, etc. 8. Opens new dimensions in mental magic 9. Easy to use, instant reset just open and perform, no preparation required. 10.The king of magnet detectors |

If minimax v1 is anything to go by then it's probably no good. Doesn't mention range, battery life or anything meaningful.
i don't think Craig will be bested. |

Wait....I can "create a complete program for my performance based on Minimax?"
I have to get two of them! Seriously, check out ProMystic's new SCAN3D, if you want "state-of-the-art!" http://www.promystic.com/product/scan3d/ |

I rarely post
Im not new to magic at all (almost 50 yrs of age, doing magic around 15 of them). Now I'm digging Deep into mentalism, and mentalism only. Studying Osterlind, Harmonica, Practical mental effects and so on. Im trying to build me a small show, and wonder whats the best, SCAN3D, Minimax or Sixth Sense 2.5 (Hugo Shelley). What would you advice? |

Scan3D closely followed by SS2.5.
Minimax ain't even in the race. |

Ok guys, I'm using the first version because it does the job for the things I'm using it for... but is anybody here who really bought the second version and is willing to write a short review?
I'm aware of other products now thanks to the covert advertising in the earlier posts but I'm not interested in these other products. Cheers Nikki

Scan3D uses its own unique and proprietary technology that the others can't even fathom. It allows the most sensitivity ever - and it will likely be a long time before anything else catches up.

That's nice to know but it doesn't answer my question
I'd suggest that all the Scan & [put name of other devices here] users create a new thread for their products and all other users can wait for a review in this thread Sometimes you can't afford the really, really good & expensive products and you have to use alternatives particularly when you are a hobbyist/ amateur Cheers Nikki

The ad copy claims that this is the "smallest and most sensitive electronic mag**t detector available today."
I would love to see a close up photo of Minimax 2.0 side by side with Scan3D to see which is actually smallest. I would also really like to know if the new unit can easily detect a mag quarter from 3-4" or teeny little neo mag 50% the size of a vitamin - also from 3 or 4"? The price looks low but the claims seem exaggerated. WMS? Alakazam? "MINIMAX is the smallest and most sensitive electronic ma**etic detector available today! It is so small that you can hide it in a Thumb Tip, below your watch, in your mouth, under your sleeve or you can simply finger palm it. The options are endless! This AMAZING device allows you to perform magic effects that have NEVER been possible before. You can show your hands totally empty before during and after you performance!"

Brett, they made the same claims about version 1 and as we all know, it was cr@p. I'd like to see some real comparisons based on testing but I doubt this is a whole new technology.

Okay guys, if there's anybody out there who's still interested in this gimmick:
I recently received a reply mail from one of my favourite magic shops. I asked them how far you can have your hands away from the object and the shop told me it's only 2-3cm... What the 🤐 ??? I haven't expected a better tool than e.g. 6th sense but 3cm? That's not cool. Even the old version was able to get a signal from a 2-3cm distance. I won't buy it. Cheers Nikki

And yet that magicshop probably still sells it to people who believe the advertisement.
Really getting sick of makers/creators with false claims. But maybe what is more alarming is that there are retailers who sells these stuff knowing that the product doesn't do what the advertisement says. And that they are "honest" enough to tell you the truth only after you have asked them by email instead of naming it in their advertisement..... |
