Hi Greg Rostami, I recently purchased your 'Inject' App - which by the way, I am thoroughly enjoying - you are a genius!! I would like to share an idea if I may, with you and others who are also using this app. Maybe you or someone else has thought of this idea already, but I will share anyway...
This is an expansion on the 'Lazy Inject' idea, for those like myself, who have a hard time memorizing swipes and/or executing them covertly in the heat of performance. You will not need your phone/'Inject'App on you for this performance - just a few memorized URLs and at least three spectators/victims with their own smart phones. Imagine you approach Spectator number 1 and claim you could project an image into their minds. Lets start with something simple like a playing card. You then ask Spectator 1 for his/her phone. You say you're searching for a photo of Houdini which has a hidden, significant, meaning behind the playing card you are now projecting mentally to your spectator. You present the phone with the image of Houdini and lay it down on a table (screen/photo in view). You state you will never touch his/her phone again, but you just have Spectator 1 look at the photo, and then to draw, on a piece of paper provided, the playing card that comes into his/her mind. You say I will get back to you about the significance of this photo and your card in a minute. You then say you would like to take this a step further. You say you want to try and project a more complex image, such as a random animal or object of some kind. You turn to Spectator number 2 and ask for his phone. You say you are doing an image search of an object you will project to Spectator 3. You might say you are projecting an item you might find in a woman's purse (could get comical). You set down Spectator 2's phone upside down, hiding the screen and image search you just made. Again, you state you will never touch this phone again. You now ask for Spectator 3's phone and to open up their browser. You take the phone and say you are setting up the google search screen, so that as soon as Spectator 3 has a mental image of a random item you might find in a woman's purse, they can immediately type in their secret thought-of item to themselves. Next, you ask Spectator 2 to turn the phone over on the table to reveal the woman's purse-item image search you just made revealing the correct item! (An awkwardly, embarrassing item maybe - but you will look like a Superstar Mentalist none the less - because you are the one who projected the thought, right? ) Lastly, you turn to Spectator 1 for the final kicker. You remind the spectator that there is something significant about their thought of card they just drew on the paper provide and the photo of Houdini that has been sitting in view the entire time. You then of course have the spec zoom into the eyes of Houdini for the final reveal! Brief explanation... Give Spec 1 his phone with the usual URL 'Houdini Receiver' Photo. Have Spec 1 draw a random card openly on a piece of paper. When you get Spec 2's phone, type in your Houdini CARD Transmitter URL as you say you are doing an image search of the woman's purse item. This is where you type in Spec 1 card selection you just seen him/her draw. Hit Thump. Should say received, then immediately go back to the address bar, backspace/delete the Houdini Card Transmitter URL - type the normal Receiver URL, touch 'Images', set the phone down upside-down ( You can buy yourself plenty of time to do this URL typing-bit by using patter - playing like your searching for an animal image, then say, wait - lets make this a little more interesting, how about an item you might find in a woman's purse. (re-typing corrections etc.) Turn to spectator 3 - take his phone. Type in the normal Receiver URL again, showing the Google page, while stating you are setting up their phone so they can immediately, secretly, type in the random woman's object in the search engine. The rest is history. So to summerize, you can see this allows you to show two kinds of injection effects (Lazy Injection and Houdini Card Effect; where you do not need to memorize and/or secretly swipe the Houdini card on your phone. Hope it is ok to type this info here in this forum without giving too much away about Inject - I assume it is ok based on recent posts I see here. Thanks for reading - hope any of you can make some good use of this idea. Thanks again Greg Rostami for a truly amazing and well thought out App - worth every penny!! |

Hi Calibus,
Thank you for your kind words. The routine that you have outlined is a GREAT way of using a one-ahead idea in Inject. As you may already know, Inject has a few technologies that take your idea even further for some truly remarkable one-ahead routines. I personally like to keep the last spectator's prediction something that I transmit by swiping ... but if you never want to swipe, your idea is AMAZING!! Magic on brother, G Ro |

Thank you Brandon Gerald for this amazing performance.

I love this, but, unfortunately, half the time it fails. Not due to any bad internet connections. Quite the contrary. The internet was very fast. Apparently, if the first person's device goes to sleep, it won't update, even after woken up, but then it's too late anyway.
It's all in the reflexes.

Hi Illucifer,
Inject has MANY routines that are not dependent on how fast their device goes to sleep: The Houdini effect, ACAAN, Dictionary, etc, etc, etc ... For the routines where a sleeping phone may be an issue, here are two ways to guarantee you'll never have a problem: 1. For longer presentations, you openly change their sleep time on their phone. 2. For faster presentations, structure the routine like this: "Think of any celebrity ... really see what this person looks like in your imagination. Do you have someone in mind? Good! Lock that image in your mind". Do an image search on their phone, put their phone far away, and have them name the celebrity. Let them pick up the phone to see that you read their mind! This patter is SUPER FAST because you're having them think of someone BEFORE you even touch their phone. With proper routining, you'll never have their phone go to sleep. Even if it does, it will be AFTER you've done "THE WORK" and the trick will succeed. Greg |

Hi nemo76,
You don't need the bluetooth item to use Inject. I have never used Inject with the bluetooth device. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Greg Rostami |

Here's a new way to force an item on a list using Inject:
This preset is called "The Stanford List": Features: The numbered list can have as many items as you like on it (this list has 12 items on it) You can either use words or images to force an item. The spectator has a free choice of ANY number. No Voice Recognition You don't need an accomplice The list can be face up on the table when you perform. You can perform the trick several times if you use a different force item. If the spectator refreshes the page, or visits the page in the future, it will be the same list. The whole effect happens on THEIR phone!! Let me know what you think. all the best, Greg Rostami |

Very clever Greg, thank you.
Is it already on the app? Can we change the list of word ? |

Greg Rostami V.I.P. Skynet will become self-aware in 2871 Posts |
Yes, you can make it be anything you like.
As long as you can upload the images, you can customize the trick. Even if you can't upload it, ask me and I'll upload it to my server for you. What I really love about the above idea is, you can do it with their phone face UP on the table, no one notices anything. cheers, G Ro |

I hate to be the one to say "I don't get it," particularly after seeing it utilized in Jan's Penguin lecture, but...I don't get it. Especially after trying to understand it from this thread.
Do you need a separate device in pocket or elsewhere, or can it be done with ONLY my phone and spectator's phone? What's this other mini-keyboard thing I'm reading about? Is that optional? Re: The PS, as described in Jan's lecture, was this simply Jan's adaptation of it like how I would have my own adaptation of it? Also, what if my cell phone gets another virus and I have to do another manual reset and I lose it from the phone, like how I lost a previously-installed RA? How would I retrieve it after a manual reset? |

You can use it the way it comes and do what I demonstrated in my lecture . You need only the spectstor's phone and yours (which can be hidden anywhere). Jan

Hi BCE,
You don't need anything else to use Inject. The bluetooth remote is optional (I personally never use it). As Jan has already stated, you only need your phone and the spectator's phone (your phone is NEVER seen). Using Inject for pre-show has many advantages over other pre-show methods: Asking someone to "Google" something on their phone is very natural (as long as it's motivated). Unlike other pre-show methods, the magician doesn't give the spectator any props (no pen, no paper, no pad, NOTHING). Unlike impression devices or corner t****, you don't take anything back from the spectator. During your performance when you make the statement, "You never wrote anything down", the spectator agrees since they DIDN'T write anything down. And MOST IMPORTANTLY ... There's no evidence left on their phone ... when they hit the back button there's nothing, if they look at their history there's nothing. If you ask someone to Google something on their phone it would be EXACTLY identical to your Inject performance. I have performed Inject for some of the smartest, techy people and they have no clue how it's done. The disadvantage of Inject is if you don't have internet access (like on a cruise ship) then you can't perform. The way that Jan frames his Destinations routine with Inject is REALLY clever! If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. I hope that clears things up. Greg |

A few days ago I purchased "Inject". Reading about the principle and the possibilities lets me smile. There are so many ideas included...the "one handed gesture" was the actual reason for me pushing the "buy-button". I never had a facebook-account but for joining the closed group I actually created an account. I hope to find the Gesture-List (to learn it) like seen for the other effects in the manual.
Inject is like a good wine winning taste with the years. |

IOS 10 has just come out so will this still work on iOS 10? From what I have gathered the method is it will but some apps get buggy when apple update their software.
