Hole 2.0 is an effect from Mickael Chatelain, in which a card is sandwiched face up in between two face down cards, and in a moment, it passes through the cards and lands on the table/floor/spectators hands, etc.
Now this isn't the strongest piece of magic in the world. In fact, it's very far from it. The demo didn't excite me at all, as Mickael has some incredible effects and this just didn't excite me like his tricks usually do. But I picked it up because it fooled me, bad. The method was what excited me and I can tell you that the method IS awesome. The method is great. It's very James Bond-esque and when you see the gimmicks, you are confused as how this helps you do this effect. But as I watched the DVD and saw how it all works, I was doing it in seconds and grinning like a hyena. It's very cool and very fun to practice. The gimmicks you receive should last a long time if you keep them in a card wallet to protect them. The DVD, hosted by Mickael, gives you a plethora of different ways of performing Hole 2.0, some better that others but it was great having options on how to execute the gimmick. Teaching was great, the DVD quality was good, no true issues at all. Upon performing the effect a few times, I can confirm my hypothesis that no, it doesn't get the worlds craziest reactions. In fact, very far from it. It did suprise me though, as it was a puzzle to laymen and when you hand the, the cards to be examined, they really were searching for trap doors! Very entertaining. So.... is Hole 2.0 what you need in your repertoire? Do you see a use for it? That's all you need to ask yourself. It works, it's very clever, but would you do it? If the answer is yes, then it's a no brainer.

I'm not sure about James Bond-esque (!) - but I agree with you - there's something about this which just doesn't quite do it for me. I've written a fuller review on my site where I suggest the possibility of combining it with some other 'hole' based effects - like the excellent Dave Forrest ones.
