Wow! This is such an honour!
Thank you Dave for the compliments and the heads up. I will be on the look-out for the bonus video. I sent an e-mail to Gregory today to find out a bit more about his thought and ideas on this concept. But this is seriously overwhelming! Thanks again for your post Dave. All the best Aljaž |

Hi everyone,
First let me wish you all a healthy, happy and successful 2016. May all your wishes come true! Now,... I've been a fan of Jeff Stones reviews for years and it is a real honour to have Coin On Call on his list of reviews! http://magicreviewed.com/reviews/coin-on-call-review/ I couldn't be more happy with the review. 2016 started out nicely! There is however, a pressing issue with the additional method/idea provided by John Guastaferro, which was added to the download as an extreme solution for when/if you find yourself without the gimmick. We can all agree that no working proffesional is going to use this method to achieve the effect, however I believe it to be a feasible way to pull the effect off in some situations. The idea has been called non-convincing and impractical (also in another review), which it probaby is, but I wouldn't go as far to say it is stupid. Surely John would not put his name behind it, if it was. People just have to realise this was added for the sake of completeness and was not intended to be the main method. Thank you again for all your support. Cheers Aljaž |

Good day to all,
Coin On Call has been experiencing some new sales due to an e-mail blast from Penguin. I am extremely grateful for all the support however, I am surprised to see the relation between the numbers sold and numbers of reviews posted living up to the general rule of 2-5% (2.7%*). *If you feel like it, you have enough information to calculate an exact number of COC downloads sold One of the reasons why I release magic is to receive feedback. Good or Bad. It would mean a lot to see some more reviews from verified buyers. So, if you bought the routine, I would appreciate you dropping a few words on the review section: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5991 All the best to all of you. Aljaž |

Is this available without the gimmick included? I know the routine from the article by Jeff Prace in Magic or Genii magazine - can't remember which one - but I would love to get the additional routines or handlings that I see mentioned here. But I really don’t wish to purchase the gimmick! (I have two of Roy's Penny/Dime C/S coins, and a handful - literally - of Johnson's Dime and Penny tricks).
Thanks! Jim |

Hi Jim,
I made an inquiry with the Penguin team and unfortunately the product can only be offered in its entirety with gimmick and instructions. There is not a high enough demand to support a second product on the site plus there are not A LOT of people that have this specific gimmick for common pocket change in US currency. If you do decide to purchase the full product, there are a few small subtleties on the video, that were not present in the write up for MAGIC or Jeff' Linking Ring column The Expert At The Tech Table. Also, as you've read here in the thread, there is an additional routine with 2 phones and 2 spectators, where there is a completely different effect. Thank you for your interest and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. All the best Aljaž |

I asked the same question over a year ago. This should have been available as a download from the beginning. Nobody (50 percent) would want to pay for this gimmick outside of the US for obvious reasons.

OK, thanks for the reply Aljaz.
I do understand pegasus. Jim |

I understand and respect your point of view pegasus however, from a commercial perspective it just makes more sense to offer the US gimmick since not a lot of people have it. And becuase it is relatively cheap (3-4$,) it is more sensible to include it in the product.
In my opinion (may be somewhat biased), the instructional video and PDF alone are worth the price (especialy if you do paid gigs). I live in The Netherlands and use Euro currency however, I keep a couple of other currencies (US, UK) in case I will need them when traveling. Whoever thinks this is an effect they wish to perform, is probably willing to invest another $15 or so, for a proper gimmick that matches the pocket change in their currency. My preference would be to offer each customer a gimmick that matches their local currency, but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. |

Hello friends!!! Love this effect and performed it for 2 weeks straight. Then...lost the gimmick. That didn't take long Any idea where I can pick up a few of these? Not in bulk exactly. But maybe 5 of them? I don't trust myself to not lose one again.
I do have the penny/dime scotch and sofa, but the gimmick doesn't look anywhere near as convincing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but who makes the gaff supplied with the trick from Penguin?

Hey Videoman. Not sure who "originally" made it (I can't even imagine the history of copper silver coins), but I just bought 3 gimmicks from the website Jim suggested! There's so much beautiful coin work on that site

Hi frankieacemagic,
I am happy to hear you love the effect so much! Yeah,... loosing coin gaffs is always an issue and I know of people who don't use them at all for that very reason. That is too bad. I feel that the combine use of well executed sleight of hand with gimmicks/gaffs work, can really enhance the magical effect if used proportionally and at the right moments. Also, I think you made an excellent choise to go with Roy Kueppers C/S gaffs as they are far more superior than any others I've seen. I hope you keep enjoying performing the routine and if you find the time, it would mean the world for you to drop a review on Penguin: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5991 @videoman... The gaff that you receive from Penguin is by my understanding a part of the classic Scotch and Soda - Dime and Penny set. I beleive it is made by Tango Magic. All the best to both of you. Aljaž Šon |

Hey Aljaz! I would be happy to post a penguin review! I've peen performing Coin on Call ALL weekend. 7 shows, and it's the first thing I did when I come into each house. The adults who are standing around when I walked in ended up with a magicked dime and a phone pic before I've even started the shows!!!
Thank you again for coming up with this and sharing! --Frank |

Hey Frank!
Sorry for the late reply, I had a crazy few weeks. Thank you for your feedback. One of the best feelings as a creator is to hear how other magicians use your creations and their experiences with it. And THANK YOU for the lovely review on Penguin. It means A LOT! All the best Aljaž |

Hi everyone,
This is not a "bump" of my thread (well maybe ) as I do have a serious question... Has anyone (who performs COC) ever thought about OR was bold enough to actually do a Selfie with the spectator while they are holding the gimmick? The thing is... I was thinking of all sorts of ways to accomplish this. Had even such outrageous ideas as having a gimmick to cover the coin on the screen, so that they could see them holding a penny in their hand ON THE SCREEN as well (not really practical). Just recently however, I went ahead and just did the Selfie with the spectator and asked them to look into the camera. Amazingly... it flew right by... not once, not twice, but everytime I tried it so far (7 times). The chances of "misremembering" actually seeing the photo, of them holding a penny, is now exponentially higher by my findings (happened 4 out of the 7 times so far). What do you all think? Willing to give it a go (those who perform it anyway)? Looking forward to all your feedback. Regards Aljaž |

Hmmmmm... now that is interesting. Never thought of doing that and thinking through it now I don't see why it wouldn't work. They would be so focus on smiling to notice I think. And the final image would be a lot for fun.
Thanks for sharing. Ryan |

That's really interesting, the idea of having them look at the camera! When I started to read this, I assumed you were just going to hold the camera facing towards you and take a photo, rather than using the selfie camera
