Once when I was asked to repeat a specific pen thru dollar bill trick that I had done previously(where either the pen or bill was gimmicked), but this time she raised a challenge, and asked if I could poke a pen through *her* bill and using her pen. Being in a frivolous mood, I said "sure". She held out her bill and I pushed her pen through it. <pause> With the pen still sticking through the bill she look bewildered, and that was the end of the "challenge", and I started laughing. The next day, telling some other friends about this, someone over heard only part of what I said, and asked if I could do that trick with his bill. Suuure. He held up his bill, and I poked a pen through it, <pause> Well fix it! I didn't say I could do that. All laughed(well at least I did). In a few minutes our group got seated at a table for lunch, and others were talking about what I just done, and now a third person asked if I could do it with his bill. Suuure Someone held his bill outstretch between his hands, maybe a little to tightly, and I poked the pen right through the center of the bill. This time, however, the bill tore completely in half. Everyone, especially those that heard the full story of what I had done previously, broke out into roars of laughter. Now, THAT is an impromptu performance! with three full phases, and I reserve full rights to it John

I took this out and performed it multiple times in a bar last night, and it got a great reactions every time. I followed it up with Atomic Bills, the John Sheets Bill transposition effect... A wonderful one two punch if I do say so...well done, it's a keeper!

On the Penguin discussion forum on this trick, someone said that "tembus" is the Indonesian word for "through." A good name!

The translation app on my iPhone says that tembus means "penetrating" in Indonesian, another appropriate-sounding word for this trick. Is Robert B., the originator, from Indonesia?

I like to make. Dollar ring with one of the bills then hand the bill in an altered state. |

I agree with what SMAGIC31 says and the reply given by immediately showing another
another bill trick. 'ROLL THE BILLS' which is shown under Money Magic in 'Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic' whereby a $5 bill rolled with a $1 bill switch positions, is an ideal follow up to Tembus. Norman. England U.K. |

Got this yesterday as I thought it looked very clean(infact excellent).
Watched the explanation & folded up the bills while Matthew did it(before he got to the meat & bones of what you actually do). I just copied his performance & laughed out loud when I did it.It just worked. Then I watched the extra information & method & was correct. However there is extra information if you want to make it more fooling. Was I disappointed? No way ! I paid for an effect which will get a great reaction, is impromptu, visual, and I can do it any time. Haven't tried it yet, so can't really say if people will be able to guess and duplicate the method. However, when I work I don't just do 1 effect, so after doing this they will have other stuff which is just as visual to think about. Got other bill penetrations and as far as I am concerned, this is another to add to my arsenal. Mike Donoghuue Keep these effects going Matthew. You are doing a great job |

Matt Is Right Tophatter you won't be disappointed I just ordered this & the funny thing is the bill penetrated thru the other bill by accident while watching the explanation ! the Tips are great repeat it while the spectator holds the other bill ! Great effect you will learn this in 3 seconds . You can also have the bill set up for the 5&1 Bill switch after this . The bottom line is move on to the next effect grab the bills do another trick Pen thru Bill You will Fry your audience !! Best 9.95 I have spent in a while on a magic trick ! I use Crispy New Bills Sounds like MAGIC ! What the heck have them sign the bills ! You Guys are thinking to much like magicians about this effect it awesome very happy with my purchase it's in my wallet ready to Go !!

It stands for an idea -- it's not a material thing. Money is not subtantial, it has no real material substance of its own. And so it should be possible to make one insubstantial bill pass through another insubstantial bill. Let's try it! And he goes into the bill penetration effect. I like highfalutin' philosophical-sounding presentations like that! |

The reviews are flooding in for Tembus over at Penguin Magic. Really happy to hear how much everyone is enjoying this. It really is the perfect effect as it's easy to master, will stay with you forever and works in the real world. The reactions are GREAT!
Enjoy, MJ |

I performed this tonight behind the bar a few times it went over great ! even Tested it out on Teenagers & they had No Idea ! After the penetration I had the spectator name one of the bills the Five or the one . Once the bill of choice was named I put the other bill in my pocket then performed pen thru bill !! This will eliminate the other bill as you moved on to the next miracle ! No Time for the spectator to reconstruct or try it out FRYS them nicely !
