We must cultivate our garden.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

Folks, it’s very rude to comment on posts you don’t read.
Makes you look like a jerk.

Calling names in a passive aggressive nature does also. For the record I input said I stopped reading and did not comment. YOU then presumed to tell me about MY life which sort of makes you look less than good.

I would tell them to avoid internet forums.

That a good one, NYCTwister!

Another thing to tell them might be to be careful what you wish for.

I notice you don't follow this sage advice.

Regardless of what the speech is, remember that scientifically it's 55% how you look(body language), 38% how you say it and 7% what you say. They will only remember the first two percentages.

For some odd reason I thought about this thread at work today. Here is what I might say.

In a sense, life isn't always what you make of it. In many ways, you are what life makes of you. You can try your best, work hard and still fail. Things will happen to you that you have no control over. You will get sick, lose jobs, be hurt by people; friends and loved one will pass on. Life can be very cruel at times.

And that is when we decide to choose how we will respond; during the hard times in life. If you react with a good attitude and get up from your failures and keep trying, you can succeed. Maybe not in the way you have planned, but maybe in other ways that you have never even imagined.

And so, in a sense, life is what you make of it; in the way that you respond to life, not necessarily in the way you go about achieving your goals.

And barring that, there's always this:
