I still try to carry a CP'd coin around with me all day if I can. But sometimes I think "I'd better not risk it HERE" or "...while doing THIS." But I've gotten to the point where I forget it's there sometimes (which is awesome), and have now dropped the coin in some very, umm, interesting places:). This morning I dropped into my glass of water. I'm used to the motion of grabbing a cup/glass from the top because of all the coins-to-cup routines. But for whatever reason, this morning the coin just went "plop" into my glass and down into to the depths of my drink:-P.
I wondered if others had advice or stories about carrying a coin around and when NEVER to do it, or where you may have comically dropped it:). My wife yelled at me this morning for holding it while trying to climb a ladder. I saw her point. That could be dangerous. But what's more important? Falling to your death, or getting more CP practice?:-P. Cheers! Ken |

I always am nervous when I'm getting in an elevator. The little crack that goes into the elevator shaft is pretty much an abyss of no return.
Reality is a real killjoy.

I once held a coin up to a woman's face at my fingertips. During the sweep up it went from gently held to cleavage palm. Yes swish! Two from the free throw line! I turned dead pan to the guy to my left and said "see it's gone." And the girl just lost it.

Did you let her think you did it on purpose?

I was once on a dock that goes out on Lake Michigan and dropped a half dollar and it fell on the back of a sea gull (or whatever they are) and it scared the bird and he (or she) flew off with the coin on it's back, and it then fell into the lake.
I keep my coins in my pocket now. |

Hi,
I remember one time that I drop from CP a silver dollar on a floor of a church during a wedding... Everybody, turn around and look in my direction. I turn around to look at the person behind me. Just a beautifull moment. 😄 Magicbart

I once fooled myself with an accidental off the cuff moment.
On purpose 30 silver dollars were dropped during a scene of Godpell. They were in a bag. For enhanced audio, the were dropped from the balcony, not by the actor. Harris With palms of aluminum foil, for a lighter touch in coin magic

I dropped a coin (Morgan Silver Dollar) in CP at a buffet into the pasta salad as I was reaching over for something else, a few others noticed and so I dug in underneath and took a big spoonful of the salad with the coin resting on top and put it on my plate. I walked off muttering something about potentially chipping a tooth, then went around the corner and had a good laugh.

Never drop a coin on a bus. Gremlins steal it the instant it hits the floor and you'll never see it again. 100% true fact.

I carry three matching 1886 Morgan silver dollars at all times, and can be found cp or edge palming both hands at any given moment. Mostly, I worry when on concrete floors, but mishaps are pretty rare now. Have lost a coin temporarily in a car seat, from time to time over the years.

I have lost at least 2 half dollars into the slot where the emergency brake handle protrudes from the center console in my car. I would have to completely remove the center console to retrieve them so they are stuck there forever.

Whilst standing on a bridge getting ready to do some busking I adjusted the jumbo coin that was held under my belt. The coin slipped went through some railings and clanged onto the tracks of an heritage railway some forty feet below. I spoke to two workers on the railway who eventually retrieve it for me. I wondered after if they had thought that the coin was a real one and that the impact with the track had caused it to expand to three inch across.

Honestly, I've never walked around CP'ing anything, not for very long, and now it seems like I don't ever want to, after reading this thread

This is providing some much-needed catharsis (having a pretty bad day at work), as I thought this kind of stuff only happens to me.....

I've forgotten about a jumbo coin under my belt, and had it clatter free, never anywhere to embarassing or irretrievable.
Once dropped a coin that rolled improbably far in a department store, followed it at a relaxed pace. |

A few years ago I was sitting in a lecture hall listening to someone give a talk on their research. Since I was sitting in the back of the room, and I wasn't particularly interested in the talk, I figured that was a perfect time to practice my CP. I made one mishap and dropped the coin onto the hard floor, which caused quite a few people to look back. However, the worst part was that the floor was sloped, and the coin proceeded to loudly roll all the way down to the front of the room. I did my best to play it cool and pretend like nothing happened. I even furrowed my brow and looked around as if I was also trying to find the source of the noise. Afterwards, once I had located the coin on the floor, I pulled the ole "shoe needs tying" routine to pick it up.

I've done the well underneath my carseat, a toilet, garbages, etc etc.
Again, I only use random Kennedy halves most of the time so no big loss. |
