While at the 2015 T.A.O.M. convention in Austin, TX, I talked with Robert Baxt after the final night show. It was early in the morning when we started talking (after midnight sometime) and my intent was to chat for a brief moment about the convention and what he thought about the overall event. As it happened, you cannot take a drink of water from this fire hose.
Robert started talking and what he had to say was solid gold stuff. I didn't want to interrupt his train of thought because it was "full speed ahead" and going 90 miles an hour. He talked about magic contests and whether or not they should be judged as art or like the Olympics complete with "mandatories" where contestants would have to show some level of proficiency before they performed their "free style". We also talked about how to best interact with your audience and how to put your personality into some of the classic tricks to make them uniquely yours. All this and much more is discussed this week on The Magic Word Podcast at: http://scott-wells-kdb1.squarespace.com/......ert-baxt Thanks for your support and for listening.

Scott, I didn't mean to be so intense! You got me right after I walked off stage from the finale of the closing night show. I was still in my show clothes and more importantly, still in performing mode! But I'm happy that you enjoyed my thoughts and grateful to you that you thought it worthy of it's own segment. Next time we do one, get me when I haven't just done a show and you'll see I'm more relaxed, I promise! http://scott-wells-kdb1.squarespace.com/......ert-baxt
