I just finished reading, "Who is Magic Babe Ning", by Ning Cai a/k/a Magic Babe Ning. IF you do not know, "Magic Babe Ning" became the top female magician/illusionist/escapologists in Singapore and Asia and was sought after to be on TV shows, movies, and magazines. She traveled the world in a whirlwind of glamour and celebrity.
However, this book is not so much about magic and is not meant strictly for magicians, it is a book about her life's journey of creating a stage persona to being lost in that persona and in finally finding peace and happiness when she disgarded that persona. It is a book about self-discovery and inner strength. It is a book about having the courage to throw away what you thought would bring you happiness to actually doing what you need to do to have happiness, both personally and professionally. It is about finding inner peace, joy, and love. We all have a story to tell. We all have a life's journey to undertake. Ning tells us her story in an honest, open and beautifully written way. She unveils the seemingly glamourous lifetsyle of a world famous magician and shows us how it nearly and literally killed her, emotionally and physically. It is a story of her journey. A journey that we can all relate to and learn from. IT is finally a story of triumph, self-discovery, inner strenght, inner courage, and inner peace and love. Highly recommended to magicians and non-magicians.

I'll chip in...
I personally seen Ning starting her career and it's really amazing how she has transformed to one of the top female illusionist in Asia. The book would definitely give you some insights to her struggles, her journey and her views as Magic Babe Ning. |
