Your first post means nothing, it's merely conjecture on your part unless you've actually bought or seen the gimmick. Except for his, reviews on this have been excellent so far.

There's only been one review from a paying punter who has both examined the gimmick and watched the dvd. Remember, this is SansMinds we're talking about. Does a leopard ever change its spots?

I received mine today and I am not quite sure about this one yet. From some perspectives I do like it and viewed from another perspective I don't like it that much, it all depends on the situation and how you are going to use it.
The gimmick looks OK at best. You can't really have your spectators look closely on the card and it would be wise to not keep it still if you are working close up. If you keep moving the card and then moves the attention away from the gimmicked card to the card in their hand and switch it out for another card you will be fine. Although, the routine won't look as clean as it does in the trailer. You do not want to keep the gimmicked card out in play for a very long time, there is no way that they can look closely on the gimmicked card. The quality? The quality is OK for what it is. It is a gimmick made out of bicycle cards with some other things that makes it work. If you handle it with care it will last for a while. How long is hard to tell. If you are lucky it might last a while, if you are unlucky, not so long. Although, you get some more "extra stuff" with the dvd so you can make your own gimmick if it breaks and if you are handy. If you know what you are getting, which is a card gimmick that you have to use in the way that I explained and think that the price is worth it, you might like it. The problem that I have with it is the price and the product itself. It would have been great if it was a part of a multi-dvd project where you get a few more effects because what you are getting here is essentially a quick trick with a gimmick which might not last that long. Personally, I would not say that this is a "worker" because if you do "work it" it will get worn out and I do not like to rely on those types of effect in my set where I might find myself in situations where the gimmick breaks or that I run out of gimmicks. Also, when working close up out in the real world I do not want to have to handle my props so restrictively and when something like this looks this amazing, people, especially drunk people, might want to grab the card and look at it. If you want an effect that looks amazing in a video reel or something, then this is awesome, that is the way I will use it. |

As I said at the start of the thread, "The video makes it look (and sound) better than it actually is". Will you guys ever learn!?

Honestly, once again out of the twenty or so effects I've bought from Sansminds, 10 I use regularly, 8 or so I use when the situation is right and two were stinkers. That's a pretty *** good track record. If you take out the trailer controversies, their products are pretty cool especially if you're willing to make an effort to learn them. Maybe others have bad experience but I've always been mostly happy.

So what are the 18 products you use and the 2 that you bought and are bad? |

Well
I received this today and am disappointed. The gimmick was clearly not well made (difficult to be specific without revealing the nature of it). The result of this was that the change did not happen quick enough to be even slightly deceptive. After playing with it for 30 minutes or so it broke completely. Whilst you do receive materials to make up a new gimmick I wouldn't expect to have to do this so soon. |

I've already posted the list somewhere, I'm not going to post it again. I didn't particularly like Canic or Reduction but those were the only two I was disappointed with.

Actually I will post it again so you can stop trolling me.
I love: imprint, wonder box, on off, extortion, something out of the ordinary, trace, Photoshop, pasteboard workers I like: unboxing, Canic, split second, propel, patrified, sans sharpie, beyond holey I disliked: pop change (not Canic I wrote above, I mixed the two effects up), reduction. Actually didn't hate either of them they just don't work for my needs. There's a few others but I can't recall them off the top of my head. |

Hi,
Sorry to say my gimmick is going back, 1, The geometry of one part is not correct so revealing the change before you even start 2, The material that makes the gimmick work gave up the ghost on the second go! I have looked at the DVD and bonus video and followed the handling as shown on the DVD, I think overall this will have to have carful handling as the gimmick can be seen if you leave the card static for to long, will have to just learn how to handle and perform this one carefully. I would say the promo video is not misleading just carefully crafted. The DVD its self has some good working material in it, just the gimmick is not as invisible as it seems in the promo. MoM has agreed to swap the gimmick and I will see how the second one looks. |

Another turkey. I did try to warn you all. Being a dealer for more years than I care to remember gave me a good 'trash radar'. I can't believe hundreds of you pre-ordered this tripe based on dealer hype! Maybe next time you'll take more notice of what I say. The only advice I can give you now is to demand a refund, do not let things lie. New consumer law in the UK (effective from 1st October 2015) means you are guaranteed a refund within 30 days if the goods are of an unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described. Use this new consumer power to make a stand. 'You're buying the secret' is no longer a gambit dealers can use. I'm not being a trouble maker, it just infuriates me when I see people wasting their money on stuff that is sub-par that has been hyped to get the tills ringing. I would never have taken that approach with my customers, for me it was about giving them good, quality magic that they would be sure to use. That was the value I delivered.
