Just as a thought, wouldn't a thread like this be better suited to the "New To Magic?" thread?

I could see it helping people up there, maybe even being a sticky.

Not a complete book on magic jargon, the Hay's Amateur Magicians Handbook has a lengthy appendix defining may of the terms of art used in magic. I can usually tell who's read it because they know the difference between a gimmick and a feke, and why a thumbtip is both. Smile
