Magician shows a round steel key ring (I like it because I use it as my regular key ring so its always an impromptu miracle ready to go)
Magician also shows a brass house key, the only way to put the key on is to wind it onto the spirals of the ring. magician then wills the key to melt onto the ring and it does. The spectators can see it hanging on the ring. Magician then melts it back off the ring. Finally he melts it back onto the ring again and leaves it there for inspection. The only way to get it back off is to wind it thru the spiral. You end clean and with this in your pocket, you're always ready to amaze.
Got it from Bob Solari magic on the web. He posts new stuff all the time and has a large selection of material worth checking out.

I purchased this years ago, but never could see a way to overcome the amngle restrictions.

Seems that if they are not looking straight on at the key, they will see the gaff.

Am I correct, or have you had better luck?

Let me know!

I recently purchased this effect from Bob Solari Magic as I was looking for something that was very visual, using common place objects and could be shown close up.

When I first received it I was not sure that it would do what I wanted it to which was look like 'real' magic. Of course having performed closeup for some 40 years I know that there are limitations to anything appearing to be 'real magic.'

I work behind the bar at private parties a couple of nights a week and figured this would be a good venue for the Link-Key debut.

I was hesitant at first about perceived angle restrictions but later overcame them by showing the effect flat on. If the items are held parallel to the bar top then every one is looking down and there are no problems. I also perform it at chest height just a few inches from the spectators and also no problems with the angles.

I guess I must have done this about 100 or more times so far and it always gets a great reaction. Because of the simplicity of the props and the fact that everyone recognizes a keyring and a 'house key', it gets that 'real magic'reaction.

At the end of the effect I just throw the ring and linked key onto the bar and people freak out when they pick it up and realize that the key is actually linked onto the ring just as their own keys are on their own keyrings.

It's a great effect at a very good price and you should check it out.

Thanks,

Thank you for the review.
I'll be adding this one to the others that I have by Bob Solari. He sure creates some amazing magic! Another winner by Bob!

Joe Porper and I have come out with a common Schlage House Key that goes on and off anything that will fit in the hole. Chris Kenner bought 2 and Mike Close, Dean Dill, R. Paul Wilson and others are now using them. Stay tooned.

Pete,

Please put me on your list for the House Key effect unless you have it available now. I have been seeking this angle for quite some time.
Looking forward to it ; )
Cheers,
