Talked to JS at Genii. He is apparently switching to his own version of next gen thread for his flippers. He has a cool way of pre-making the bands which IMO looks like an improvement to anything I've seen so far and will work perfectly with old gaffs. Not sure if he is crediting Mason and Swadling on this, but he told me he will be selling individual bands and a DVD or video on how to retrofit your old gaff sometime in the future on his website.
I feel sorry for Mark Mason (who was about 20 ft away from Jamie in the dealers room and not particularly happy about it), but this is great news for those of us in latex rot climates. |
