Congratulations to Suzanne for fooling Penn & Teller! Her trick with the bandages on the Oct. 5 episode was a certified fooler -- but even better was the sweet storyline that accompanied it, reminding us of the healing power of a mother's love. Fooling the mind and touching the heart is a wonderful combination, and Suzanne did a great job of both. (Plus, it's nice for a Twin Cities boy like me to see a local magician triumph!)
It's still magic even if you know how it's done.

She did really well! Nice presentation, and the method completely fooled me! I had seen her do the routine a different way for several years, and this time she changed it in a way made it completely new.

Suzanne -- Just heard that you'll be speaking at the IBM Ring 19 meeting in January. Looking forward to seeing you there!

I saw Joe Given do what he called 'Bandage Transfer (or Transpo)' at an IBM convention in the 1990's.... it may even have been in Minneapolis..not sure. It was printed in his lecture notes..... still have them!

I have watched her do it at the Magic Castle for many years, using Joe's original method but with a completely different presentation. It was part of the act that won her "Close-Up Magician of the Year" from the Castle. For Penn and Teller she changed the method radically. I have to admit, Joe's method never fooled me and wouldn't have fooled Penn and Teller. This new method of Suzanne's creation did. With a wonderful and original presentation, and a clever and original method Suzanne deserves all her kudos. |

I too, have Joe's lecture notes, and this has been a pet effect for me for years.
Magic is an art. I am merely a tour guide.
