I bought a collection and it had these cards in it. I have never seen this trick before.
The cards are larger and 1 card has Voddoo on the front. The rest of the cards (10 of them) have a silhouette of a person with an X on a part of his body, foot, shoulder, groin, head. Has anyone ever seen this and know how to do it? Please let me know if you do and if you would have directions. Picture attached. Thanks Click here to view attached image. |

It sounds like something Dan Harlan would have invented.

I think I've just seen a trailer with a similar effect. cards are better done. May be Liam Montier? Not sure.
Anyway what I saw was that a silhouette was shown. Spec chooses a card, therefore choosing a spot where the silhouette will be pierced. The original card is turned over and now there is a needle drawn exactly in the same spot. Or something like that, anyway. The ten card you have: is there a "bank" among them? Mark |

It's Al Spackman's effect. Voodoo first appeared in Gen Magazine then Vol. 1 of the book "The Art of Close Up Magic" by Lewis Gansen. Various dealers later put it on the market. Certainly Magick Enterprises in Sheffield UK (Russell Hall) sold it at one time, the photo made me think of that one. I came up with a different method and demonstrated it as a bonus routine on my "Fortune" DVD. The latest incarnation of the effect is Liam Montier's which uses photos rather than printed cards and looks neat, but don't have it so don't know if his method differs.

I have this too. Got it at my local magic shop in a bin of items on sale. I think there is a modern version of this, too.
