Some dealers are now stocking (via Murphy's) a new professional quality spring snake in three sizes. 3 foot, 6 foot and 12 foot. They are not cheap and I've only handled the 12 foot size and it is very well made.

Springy Snakes are hand made in the UK by MagicWorld.co.uk.

The 3 foot retails for $45.00

The 6 foot retails for $60.00

The 12 foot retails for $80.00

Used to do a version of the David Ginn snake can routine.
Got an extra minute or so out of the props after the routine by putting the 3 snakes back in the brittle can in front of the kids.
Put one back in the can and then reach for another and the first one pops out. Look confused. Do it again...

Yeah Quentin!

I've been selling the comedy snake balloon pump, for about 20 years, with one LONG snake. (I've forgotten how long, IIRC. it was about 10 feet long) The whole prop, pump and snake, originally sold for $45. I had a clearance sale and, sold them out for about $25. I had had the original SS Adams snakes, recovered with bright stretchy material, and fastened together. I always aimed the pump STRAIGHT UP, so they wouldn't be near the kids.

I wrote up my routine which included reloading the snake during the act. It's in my lecture notes since about the mid '80s.

A dealer from Russia had some exceptionally well made and very realistic looking spring snakes at the recent Blackpool convention. However, I'd be surprised if they sol many, if any at all, as they wanted £200 each for them.

I picked up a 50 foot Kovari snake from Hank Lee a couple of years ago. Not sure they are still available. Packs down into a Pringles can. It wasn't cheep, but one's all you need!
