After spending $ on several of the Dark Horse hardcover archive editions, I let out a loud "D'Oh!" when I discovered all the old issues are available for free on the Internet Archive and are downloadable in a number of formats, including PDF.

Frank Frazetta did some amazing art work. Those images have stayed with me since I was a kid. Remember Vampirella?

WOW, Frank Frazetta & Vampirella ...
I have all the Vampi magazines from my youth and the 6ft. Vampirella door Poster. Several of the garage kits and statues of Vampi, too ! Thanks, for the link !

OH MY GOD MAN...THIS IS AWESOME!!!
Maybe like you...I don't know...but I spent a lot of teen-earned-landscaping cash on soooo many of these mags, only later to sell them all to some dealer at a "comic-con" we had at our local shopping mall. I know these aren't worth that much as a collector, but for memory sake...priceless. Thanks dude!

Of course, I realized that fantasy would never happen, so I began fantasizing about the 6ft. door poster of Vampirella. Sadly, that never happened either. Glad to see your fantasy came true. Thanks, thanks, thanks to Mind Guerrilla, what a finding for Halloween time !
I'm not american, but I bumped into "Creepy" and "Eerie" ( although I didn't know their original names ) very early in my life, thanks to an important italian publisher who translated many stories and created pocket books. If I had to name a favourite, just one, I'd be very hesitant...there were too many to choose among...The Judge's House, Harvest of Horror...The Cask of Amontillado, The 3:14 is Right on Time!, The Cut-Throat Cat...really, impossible to name just one. I can indicate, anyway, the one that gave me nightmares the most : Revenge of the Beast ! ( Issue 5 ) Best horror comics ever. |
