Has anyone heard of this trick by Collector's Work Shop?
Effect: This is a marvelous creation from the fertile minds of Jim Swoger, Jay Leslie and George Robinson. NEW LOW PRICE! Same terrific quality. A golden skeleton key (24K gold plated!) is displayed at the fingertips. The bit or tang at the end of the key is caused to move around the shaft of the key. Then the bit is slid the length of the key towards the bow or handle, where it remains and can not be budged. A truly eerie effect, superbly made. Can be minutely examined. This effect can be carried in your pocket, ready at a moment's notice. The effect is eerie and incredible. You are defying nature. Our Kineti-Key has been pirated the world over, attesting to its great value as a performance tool. Insist on the original and do not accept the cheap imitations. Please help support original thought. Guaranteed satisfaction. If so, can you give me a review and tell me the handling with this. PM me please.

It does look pretty good except that the end of the key looks like it is just glued onto the end, which is a shame because if the key was solid, it would be a much better illusion. I think the original, bigger version is still better.

I use the Key regularly - whilst I agree with Paul Alberstat's observation I still use it.
The handling is not difficult and gets a strong audience reaction. Worth getting - there's ample time to get rid of the gimmick from the in built misdirection of the effect. |

I use something called the Golden Key, which is, I admit, probably a variation. This however is actually welded to the key itself and also gold plated. It looks great from both points of view and can be examined as long as they want. Check it out here.
PS- The pic doesn't do justice. It also comes with a nice box which hides the 'something.'

I use the golden key often. The audience always suspects that the key is much more complicated than it really is.I have had people spend hours trying to figure it out (but of course they can't). The key works great and is easy to reset.

Is the old larger version still available?
Or should I start looking for it used? For the routine I want to use this effect for a large antique looking key would be much better than the small shiney golden key. |

Having spent years demoing and selling it, i can attest to the great reaction this gets from the audience. as someone mentioned above, at the end of the trick the nub on the key is not attached very well (not that they can get it to move, its just badly welded or glued). I would only use it for a gathering in my house as the trick is expensive and if you loe the gimmick you are SOOL.

I use the Golden Key too..turns out the week after I bought it, they have a new version..same effect, same gaff, just a slicker looking head to the key. I usually will followup this trick with the psychokinetic rings with the ***.

Should also point out that KK Jr is a little elaborate in its design. It looks like it belongs on a period wardrobe or chest - but then it would be brass as opposed to gold plated. This to me is a weakness and gold plated model needs a convincing story to carry it off in a close up setting.

I recently picked this up after watching a video clip and have absolutely adored it ever since. Kineti-key, Jr. by Viking is gorgeous and made incredibly well. The Golden Key by Magic Makers is alright but I've seen flaws twice and their product is not nearly as precision made as Kinetic Key, Jr. Do yourself a big favor and spend the extra $10-$15 for Kineti Key, Jr. It's well worth it. There is one simple sleight but it is performed so slow and casual that it appears as if nothing has happened. Needless to say, I perform it very often. In fact, every opportunity that I get. I loved it so much that I have been trying to collect all available versions on the market. A beautiful classic and a real pleasure to own.

There is one version of either golden key or KK that has a very old-looking head on the key. I don't know if it's brass or gold, but if you weathered it a bit, it would most definately pass as an old, tarnished key, whatever your patter may be. I'll see if I can find one soon.

I love my kk Jr and us it at every close up gig I get. Ihave come up with a nice way of showing both hands empty before handing it out for examination.
