Hey guys~
I have an idea on hopping half which must have been thought by many others already: When I do the first 3 phrases of hopping half, I acutally placed the coin in a pocket/bag/purse (anything that helps), but I want to create an illusion that, when I show the coin has come back to my hand, I want to show the coin which placed in the pocket/bag/purse previously was vanished ( Actually vanished, or just pretend to be vanished, doesn't matter) Vice Versa, when I do the final phrases of hopping half, I also want to show that the pocket/bag/purse actually contains two coins. Any suggestion/recommendation on this?? The way to acheive it can either be gimmicked bag/pocket/bag or simply done by sleight of hand Thanks. |

??? The basic gaff permits you to show two, seem to take one away... Clean vanish...then use the gaff again to make a coin appear. see hoffmanns more magic multiplying money item for fingertips and table based handlings.
History...
...to all the coins I've dropped here

It's very easy.
As you put them in your pocket, stack them together, in order, (silver forward and copper backward). then steal both stacks as you display what's in your other hand. Load the coins back into what's in your hand as you take out the contents. Now you can show your pocket empty and continue with the routine to the next level. (Although you really don't even need to prove that your pocket is empty because the magic is the multiplication of the coins, in the first place. The vanish of them only leads the viewer to think "trick" but if you only multiply them then the viewer will think skill. Caution: only do this once or they will catch on but it makes for a great routine. I've done the stacking / loading thing, for years.

I much prefer to just drop them in a pocket with other halves and pennies. I like to keep it as a continuous production of coins rather than a vanish and reappearance. But thinking outside the box has led to some great effects, good luck!

If you do it correctly it doubles your appearances. It's NOT a vanish and reapearance.
No one would evn concider that the coins in yoiur pocket are secretly loaded back into your hand UNLESS you showed them an empty pocket.

Although, more than worried about being caught, not sure how long a spectator would want to sit and watch the same effect repeated 30 times. |

You just do it once on the last coin of each type. You've conditioned them the coins are appearing from your hand so when you load a few they aren't even thinking about you doing that.

Ive been trying to add something to hopping half for awhile. It just has gone stale for me lately. This is an interesting idea that might let the coins see some light.
