I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know where I could get a deck of Jerry's Nugget cards? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks |

If you search around in google there are some private websites that might be selling it. I was also searching around for Jerry's Nugget and Golden Nugget cards, and as a matter of fact found an old site which carried it, but it was $25 a pack so I decided against it. If there is anyone who has a bunch for a feasible price, then I'd like to buy some myself.

Kevin,
I don't know where you're from, but I live in Vegas. "The Gambler's General Store" here in town would most likely have those cards. Their toll-free number is 1-800-322-2447. I would give them a call. Hope this helps. Matt |

Gamblers General Store would have the newer cards but not the ones I think are being asked about. If they did they would be in short supply I am sure.

Lots of people have Jerry's Nugget cards. The thing is, they sell for between $25-35 a deck on eBay (when you can find them) so it isn't easy getting people to part with them for free.
I have about 2 dozen, I know of several people that have hundreds, and at least 2 guys that have thousands of decks. The question is, how bad do you want them? Jason

These are the ones that are highly prized for their revolting back design, aren't they?

What's so special about these cards? I remember seeing Fisher showing them off in the PE.

I think Dominique Duvivier bought the whole stock of Jerry Nuggets (not Golden Nuggets) decks that were still available when they finished to make them. So, with the few exceptions of some guys who own some of them, it became his "signature." I once saw (maybe in a thread here in the Café) the number of decks he bought. It is a lot. I think that he could use one per day for a lifetime...
Good luck. By the way, why are you interested in those decks? Jonathan. |

The only reason to buy these cards in my opinion is if you're a collector. I'd never use them (hate the way they look).

I am just curious but would people want unopened decks of casino playing cards to attempt to cheat. Or is it mostly just collectors. $265 for a deck is insane.

Larry, I have only two decks (one still unopened) that Barry Price gave me. He described them as "the finest card ever produced." I agree that the back design is clunky, but they do have a different feel to them that I like. They faro beautifully, and tossing doubles seems easier.
I'd not part with mine, but I would not spend $20.00+ for a deck, either! :nose:

Thanks for all the comments guys. I called the Gambler's General Store and they only carry the newer "Bee" back cards. The person I spoke with said they get a few calls a day looking for the old Jerry's cards. Jonathan, I want a deck because a friend of mine bought a deck from a flea market (lucky ***) for like $2. Anyway I messed around with them and like John said they handle very nicely, plus I really dig on the back design. Jason who do you know who has thousands of decks? If anyone wants to sell a deck please keep me in mind.
Thanks...... |

The French bought them all. I got to fool around with a deck at this magic camp once and these cards have bounce...really nice feel, but I don't think it's worth the ridicoulous price someone payed on ebay...

I would agree the cards should not go for more then $25.00 tops but if people are willing to pay it that is what can be expected on some of the auctions for the cards.
The Jerry's Nugget and the Golden Nugget cards are wonderful cards. Too bad that type of cards are not made for the casinos anymore. |
