These playing cards were supposedly printed in the 70s for the gaming tables, but never saw any 'real action'. They were immediately sold in the gift store thereafter. The classic Jerry's Nugget playing cards were made from top of the line US Playing Card Company card stock, that is not available today, which makes the cards much thicker. The U.S.P.C. also used a chemical finish then, which is also not available today - due to environmental reasons.
Jerry's Nugget playing cards were printed in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then were driven to the North Las Vegas casino via trucks where they sat in storage for many years. The highly prized playing card eventually sold out in the summer of 1999. Jerry's Nugget Casino does not have any plans to reprint them either. Dai Vernon, Larry Jennings, Ed Marlo, Lee Asher, Frank Simon, Chris Kenner, Earl Nelson, Dan Buck, Dave Buck, Wayne Houchin, and many other notable magicians have been seen playing with Jerry's Nugget playing cards. The playing cards are stiff, hold their form, and are easily manipulated. Flourishers have taken a liking to these pasteboards as well. In 2008, sophisticated counterfeiters super-saturated the market with fake Jerry's Nugget playing cards. Random videos starting appearing on youtube from upset purchasers. While the illegal versions look remarkably genuine, most playing card experts can tell the difference easily. The fake decks were made from cardboard. |

I have a deck that I got back in 2002-03 that I never use. They are in decent shape but definitely show signs of wear. I'm half tempted to just use them for a torn & restored card routine but if anybody wants them I'd be willing to trade them. If people are interested just PM me and maybe we can work something out.

Great cards to use, excellent quality. Its a deck that will last a long time. I do like the design. Like the brown wynns, different.

While I can certainly understand and respect a collectors perspective, I personally can't justify the cost! Unless of course they "self shift" or guarantee large pots in a big game I think I'll stick with my under 2 buck brands!
Also IMO, I think there are far better looking cards available! MMc |

I recently attended my first card collector's convention (a joint IPCS and 52+Joker convention) and believe me- this is a small price to pay for a deck if you want it as an art piece (or as a collectible). Several of the decks at the convention were selling at $500, $1000, and even more (one sold for more then $2000!)
I own a deck of Jerry's, which I got as a gift from someone, and I treasure it. Ben

I simply think that some people are out of their head.
Are we talking about decks been used by 18th or 17th centuries european kings? 1892' original Bee decks? Decks manufactured by true artists and made with gold, aluminium or another amazing material? A rare Deland marked deck? No. Definitely no. We're talking about JN!!! Simply JN!! Open your eyes guys... You make me laugh a lot when you say "they last long". Hey, just don't use your deck, he'll last even longer! Excellent quality? They are a plenty of "excellent quality" brands. They just worth a few bucks. I understand collectors, I don't understand hype, show off and foolishness. |

Jealous? About a Jerry Nuggets deck? Are you joking? You tease me right?
Gimme the opportunity to own very old Bee decks for instance, I'll be very interested! Or a french deck they used in 1600 or 1700. Or one Deland marked deck, say, the one with skulls. Or, or... Here some deck I'd be very delighted to own. Just some examples about tarot decks: http://trionfi.com/l-old-tarots-deck-list/ I'd like also to own many old decks used for play. Around 1800 for instance. But a JN? I'm to polite and educated to write exactly how, IMHO, people may use their multi-bucks JN deck... But if people are happy to own and live with a JN, it's OK with me. I wish'em many children. :) |

I collect various cheap decks now. I'm an old baseball card collector. I know the value of waiting.
I had a Deland deck years ago. Loved it. |
