Hello,
Has anyone got any interesting ways of using dominos? I'd like to use them to predict a number but need something a little more interesting than a one way force. Theme of the piece is 'randomness' if that helps at all. |

The PATEO force might be useful.

You could throw them all into a clear force bag http://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=56366
Give the bag a shake or two to help emphasize the randomness of everything and have someone reach in and take one. Another option is to have all the domino's in a row and do some sort of hot rod force or equivoque. Magically Aus |

Thanks Aus. I had thought of a force bag but the ones I've seen didn't look as innocent as that one!
As all that matters is the total number of spots then I can still use lots of different dominos - just the ones with the right total. I'm thinking that a volunteer might not notice that the totals are the same, as I hope that the first thought would be 'yes, those dominos are different '... |

Came across this deck of card that might be a alternative to normal domino's. Could use a normal card force with them: http://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=49983

Thanks Aus - I've never seen those before. I like the tactile nature of using dominos, but these could be an interesting alternative. Thanks!

You could also use a prime number force, using 5, 7, or 11 dominoes (or whatever amount, as long as a prime number). That way you can have as many varieties as you like.

If you can do a one-hand coin switch you can also do it with dominos,
or use Shuttle Technique or Bobo Switch. Turn all fo the dominos face down and mix. Have the spectator point to one. You pick it up and place face up on the table (apparently) You can either palm one away and peek or just have the desired one avilable for a steal.
