I took the plunge on this.
First of all, the method is pretty much what you probably think. This isn't necessarily bad but I was hoping there would be more value added for the price, like something that I probably never would have thought of if I were making this myself.

Second issue is the price. This seems more like a toy item that you would buy for a couple dollars. IMO the cost is about 10 times what it should be.

Thirdly, the postcard really screams to be examined as all the heat is on it, but it can't be.

Fourthly, the gimmck is thin paper so I can't imagine it lasting very long, especially considering what's entailed in resetting it.

Fifthly, the reset isn't all that easy but that would no doubt improve with repetition. But I wouldn't want to do it too quickly for fear of damaging the fragile gimmick.

I would only recommend this if you only wanted to use it in a video. Which is what I got it for, and for a one time video it can actually be kinda cool.
Other than using it in a video, if you spent over $5 for it you would probably feel ripped off.

Thanks for the warning. Much cheaper to just edit the video. That's exactly what people watching would think anyway.

I seriously considered editing the video to create the effect but I had a guilty conscience because that's a slippery slope and not ready to venture down it.
Plus, I was hoping to possibly use this other than the video but I doubt now that that will happen.
