Wordsworth,
I've read a few items, but have not yet worked through the volumes. I am working through the Collected Almanac currently. I spent almost $250 during the sale, in addition to a larger purchase earlier last month. I'll be set for a while, but the Elmsley volumes are classics. Hard to pass up for roughly $15 total. Helps that I don't have a wife at home. |

Bookstore is in the Cleveland area. Candidly, I'm interested in the books for both in the investment, if I can resell and make a little money, as well as building my own collection. One book I picked up was star quality, the magic of David regal, and I think I got a good deal on this one for around $25. My original plan was to resell books I'm not interested in for profit, and essentially get books I want it for free. Additionally, if other members of the community found books they were interested in, I would happily help you guys out and pick a book up for you. Due to advice I received earlier, it doesn't seem as if these books are discounted enough to warrant buying them. If somebody sees something they like, let me know. Additionally, if the books it on the used book store shelf too long, I know they're going to aggressively discount the books further. If this happens, it sounds like cardcraft and maybe the elmsley books ate worth getting.
To answer someone else's question, no, I did not pick up Regals book or the Aronson ones. The 1 Aronson book I want, is try the impossible, or bound to please. Although, if I were to learn a memorized stack, I might be more interested in the Tamariz version. At one time, I used to perform professionally. Now, I'm just and excited hobbyist. and another hobby of mine, board games, there's an expression that use called "the cult of the new", clearly, this is not limited solely to board gaming. Finding the gems from the junk is where I rely on the community like you guys to help me. All the best, and happy holidays! Thank you all again, Joel |
