Hello everyone, I just wanted to put out a word of praise for David Stone. I e-mailed him some time ago asking where I could purchase his lecture notes for table hopping secrets, and yesterday I recieved a free copy here at the office... He mailed it to me from France and left me a note inside the cover " Tom, I hope this helps, signed David Stone.."

It totally caught me off guard. I love his videos, and admire his skill greatly, and to top it off, he is evidently a really stand-up type of person.

Anyway, I don't know if this post is appropriate for the forum, but I had to tell someone about it, and by the way, the lecture notes are great!

I know that I should evaluate a person's material without regard to whether he is an angel or in league with Lucifer, but I have to admit that it matters. I have David's two videos, which are really impressive. I think he does a great job of wringing maximum impact from basic effects, and for the person starting out, I'd put these videos up there with Bobo's as far as a systematic tutorial designed to get a person from novice to butt-kicking in the shortest time possible.

I recently acquired David's two new lecture notes, "Made in France" and "Cocoon." Both are cheap and contain solid, useful material. One set of notes inspired me to re-work my coins across routine. I've read elsewhere on this forum that someone continually found new material and insights with each viewing of David's videos, and I agree.

I'm glad to see that David Stone's talent is coupled with generosity.

On the other hand, I saw recently in another forum (It must have been a slow day.) a well-known magician threaten to blacklist a dealer for daring to "slash" his new 250 dollar effect to the rock-bottom price of 200 dollars! I have no tolerance for this sort of fecal matter and have vowed never to buy another effect from this magician.

In the end, a magician is a human being, and he has to decide if he wants to be known and remembered as a great person who did real magic, or as an s.o.b. with an invisible pass.

Darrin,
I know of the forum and the topic you have mentioned, and I look at it in this way...
If you have sold the product to a dealer who plans on selling it for a profit, then that individual should be able to sell it for whatever price he wants to.
The initial cost of the product has been paid to the inventor at the same price
that it was sold to probably many other dealers... he got his money for "that" trick and wether it is sold by the dealer for 250 or 2 dollars is irrelevant and should only be the concern of the dealer whom is trying to run a buisness and gain a profit... if the product will not sell at the price the inventor suggests than how can a dealer make a profit on goods that do NOT sell?? anyway
I too have vowed not to purchase from this magician... Character goes a long way in the buisness world and can really sell you or really kill you depending on what type of person you are... I have adopted Mr. Stone as a role model for my coin work, and my character as well
Thanks for the post
