As a committed and vocal atheist I celebrate Christmas, right down to putting up the crib. Like Penn I view it as an inclusive feast. And I celebrate easter and halloween. But Christmas is the biggie. I associate it with food, great books (Dickens), good whiskey, and winter walks in the snow. Magic plays a part too. Growing up every Stephen's Day (Dec 26) I would go out on the wren (an Irish tradition). A group of us would go door to door, entertaining people for a few minutes and picking up a contribution of food or money, and that afternoon we would have a Christmas party. I always did magic or ventriloquism, while my buddies sang and played instruments.
Then that evening all our relatives would gather for a huge family meal. At the end of that I would put on a magic show for everyone. From eight to sixteen I did a show every Dec 26, and loved it. Now I base myself in Lapland for Christmas, so that I can get my fix of snow and winter fun.

Tony. Wonderful. As a person of faith I would be honored to host you at my Christmas gathering. The event would be better for it.
Actually at any gathering, I would not limit it to time of year. You encompassed everything that is being celebrated.

YES! Christmas is very magical to me! Always has been, and I hope it always will be. Of course Christmas was more magical for me when I was a kid, but it still gives me a special feeling that I can only describe as, "magical". If I were to lose that feeling of magic during the Christmas season I would be missing a lot in my life. I strive to hold on to it every year, and to try my best to share it with my family. I hope Christmas will always mean as much to them as it does to me.

And as an adult those memories from my childhood create such awesome inner feelings during the Christmas season! Which appropriately lends the title "Christmas a Magical season". Because it's truly magical and a mystery as to why those awesome feelings come back each year during Christmas. Those feelings and memories bring to light family interaction along with such excitement. If you have kids and you create a loving and fun environment during this time, Christmas will always be special to them and they will then spread the magic and excitement to their kids!!!
