Nicholas Lawrence is back to do what he does best! Sensor Magic is his new site and he has released two new effects:
Mend - A DVD and gimmick release which is a torn and restored card, you have to see the demo for this! It looks insane! Pound - a download teaching a visual transposition with a card corner and a bill corner, again, catch the trailer because this is visual as f%#} I am being sent these two effects to review, so I wanted to give you the heads up that I will be reviewing them soon can't wait to see these, I love Nicholas' stuff! Here is the site - sensor-magic.com James

😮 Restore under a glass! Restore under spectator's hand!! It's like Shin Lim's Triage, but you don't need to hold on to the pieces~ wish I had a review copy. 😁

Magic KL, looks like you do need to hold on the piece judging by the positioning of glass. If you start from tearing the card, looks like you'd need to do switch for two times. I own Triage and while it's very pretty, it didn't end up in my set for the work that's involved vs the practicality. If I were to choose between this and Triage, I personally think Triage looks more impossible. Hope I am wrong though. Any reviewers can chime in on this?

Hey guys,
Alex here. This will review will pertain to Mend only for now, and then by tomorrow Pound. Ok, so I first learned about Mend while I was surfin on Facebook. I saw the demo video of this and I fell in love with the visualness of the change of the TnR. I am a big fan of TnRs, and I have performed everything from Reformation, Counterfeit Hollingworth, to Torched and Restored, as well as Torn, and Ripped and Restored. This is different than all of those, because there are not really any angle restrictions that you need to worry about, since this isn't a piece by piece restoration like the others, but is more of a flash restoration of 4 torn pieces, mending into one card. The advantage to this is that you can also do this with a signed playing card. Skills required to pull this off are minimal, but there is a move that you need to practice to get smooth, but once you do this, then you will be out and running in no time. I like the fact that there are different types of restorations offered. 1) IN YOUR HAND You restore the card in your hand while covering it. 2) IN SPECTATORS HAND The card is restored in spectators hand 3) UNDER A GLASS This is very visual, you show 4 pieces, but them under a glass, shake, and the card is restored. 4) TOSS CHANGE You show 4 pieces, toss the card to the table and it is restored 5) SHAKE CHANGE You show the 4 pieces, and in your hand just shake and the card is restored. I opted for the DIY gimmick and download option. The video is 33 min long, and Nicholas and Rihann take you step by step through everything. Materials needed to construct the gimmick, most of them you probably already have, if not, they are easy to find. Now I am not much of an arts and crafts person, but I don't see any trouble trying to make this up, since its very minimal, and easy. What I also like about this is the ease of being able to pick and choose the type of MEND you want to do, to restore the card. Rihann takes you through a full perfomance of the spectator selecting a card, then you tear it, put it under the glass, restore it, and done. Like I said, you will need to practice this to make it look good, but it shouldnt be much harder than other TnR's out there, and the good part with this one is that, there are minimal angle restrictions, when doing the tearing, and no angle restrictions for the restoration which is great. I also like the fact in the download, that Rihann states, that if you don't want to go through the trouble of tearing, and learning that part of the routine, there is an alternate version where you don't have to do any of that, and the routine can still fly. It was $24.95 plus tax, so about $27 or so. Very good price for what you will receive, and def worth checking out. Cant wait to put this into use, I am traveling on business at the moment, but when I get some time will give this a whirl. One thing I must mention: Since I am living out of a hotel, I had trouble with my download, since it would get interrupted all the time for some reason, so Nicholas was quick to respond, and take care of me, very good customer service. After Nicholas and I talked, he sent me POUND for review, which I will review shortly in the next day or so. I am very pleased with MEND, and am sure it will be a worker among many, and cant wait to see POUND, and review it for you all. Thanks again Alex Alejandro

I don't like the sound of that. Deffo not for me in that case. |

That is only for one part of the routine, and Rihann states that it will be the hardest part, the rest is easy.
It is in the action of tearing the card and folding. that's it. Once, the card is torn, then the rest is easy, ala the restoration. Everything is justified and if done properly will work really well. Thanks Alex
