The visual change tough on Pound is quite fun. The gimmick is exactly what I thought it was, but I'm ok with that since it's pretty clever!

Can you hand out the card for examination afterwards? Especially with a signed card, I'd want to be able to give it away afterwards.

Wow.. seriously for the asking price I'd expect more from Nicholas. This is the same trick for less than $2 on the wire. http://www.theory11.com/wire/terrance-yost/swap/

Obviously not as that trick has a 2 star rating out of 21 reviews so far compared to very positive reviews for Meld. You know that saying " you get what you pay for"? Seems to apply here.

My name is Terrance Yost. This is my first post on the Café. I have never been a forum guy. Unfortunately my friend told me about this and I know if I don't stand up for myself no one will. This trick is a direct rip off of my Swap. I was not contacted for permission or anything at all. The trick is EXACTLY the same as mine. And he added in a elastic corner as 'bonus'. The structure of the trick, routine, execution, and principle are EXACTLY the same as mine. I am not famous and I am not selling tricks for profit. That's why I priced it low just to cover my filming time. I shared it because I love magic. I am very upset because people here only speak up for their friends. When their friend is clearly ripping people off, no one says anything. When Nicholas Lawrence had issue with Sansmind, I thought he was the good guy because as an artist I feel for the artist. Even when he openly admitted he screwed with his contract, I thought he might still be the good guy. And now he's ripping me off because I am not famous and I don't have friends or fans to back me up. Come on guys. That's why I never wanted to participate in forum. Many talk about ethic but no one cares outside of their circle of friends. This is very sad.

There is a really good possibility that Nicholas didn't know about Swap. Before accusing him of ripping you off, why don't you contact him and inform him about your effect?

Agreed with Cameron. Nicholas seems to be a stand up guy. Contact him and see what he has to say.

Im pretty sure that Nick didn't steal the idea. He has shown me this several times over the last several months as he has shown me tons of other things. He is super creative and has so many crazy awesome ideas. Lots of the best ideas are done in one way or another and it happens to me all the time. it sucks to see someone release something similar, but it happens and it just means we are on the right path.
Contact nick, I'm sure he'll help out the best he can. Nick is a stand up guy and has much better things to do than "steal" ideas from other people.

Interesting that Lawrence's trick has gotten pretty glowing reviews so far, and yours has gotten flat out panned on the wire. Average of two stars out of a possible five from 21 reviewers so far. If they're truly the same, how can there be such a disparate feelings about them? Having watched his career for a bit I don't believe for one second that he either ripped you off or that it's actually the same. Maybe the same concept without the detailed handlings to make it work well. Have you had contact with him? How would he have ripped you off? Did you show him your effect and now it's been released? Curious how he would have known about a trick from someone no one knows.

Maybe the name does make a difference. It's none of my business here. I have posted several messages about this topic before as I have a release coming up myself. I want to know where the boundary is. It appears people have very different standard when it comes to different 'name'. I'd assume if one effect is released prior to another, depending on how similar the trick gets, the later would have to get permission from the original to release his/her variation or improved handling. Isn't this the same case with the frog card thing with Michael Close a while back? Though, I didn't believe anyone can own IP to how to fold an origami frog with a playing card. That was the impression I was given when people were aggressive to protect the idea of an origami frog used in a card trick. I am very confused. The two tricks here are pretty much identical. What's the difference here?

When I did my research, there were similar handling to one particular effect I am about to share with the community. Do I have to get permission from them, or do I just credit them and do it anyway? And if my release appears to be similar or identical with an existing product, is it a rip off or new improvement?

I've posted about this in other threads before but didn't get much response. If someone with experience could help out that'll be great.

I guess this can't be handed out for examination afterwards, or after some sort of 'clean up'?
With something as visual as this, I know people will want to get their hands on the card to check it out.

I hope if there is complete performance of Mend. Just throwing a card and make it restored is -of course- a flashy thing , but how it will fit in complete routine this what will sell the effect.

Any store who ships this to Germany? Because sensor-magic only ships it to US and Canada and I don't want the download version without gimmicks Smile

Different mentalities, different age groups, expectation, and possibly skill levels. These and many other factors can come into play causing what was referred to as 'disparate' review.

Hey guys! Mend is awesome!

I'll practice this thing to get the routine smooth, but the gimmick is very good and workable Smile

Can anyone tell me what kind of clear el****c th***d I should get for this.. I have the dark kind used for loops, but I'm sure that will break in about 2 seconds.

Would something like this be too thick?
