Luke has a 100% similar effect.I forget what it's called but I own it. Same thing.

I will admit it has been some time since I've watched that product by Luke, but from what I recall it is not even close to the same thing, method wise.

I thought maybe Resonance was a reworking of his earlier effect called Harmony on this DVD:
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S14191 Here is the description for Harmony: "Despite the spectator giving a deck of cards two thorough shuffles beforehand, the performer is able to know the exact order of cards in a chosen suit." Oscar |

I've took a punt on this because I really liked Harmony from his DVD set. I hope they haven't just given Harmony a different name to fool us into buying it! I'll watch it later.

Ok, it's only 10 mins long so I watched it already. I liked Harmony and still use it to this day and this is Harmony with an improvement. The improvement is well worth having so if you liked the original, you most likely will be happy with the purchase.
If you don't have harmony then this is great value and for me a real worker. |

I was a bit disappointed in this (as someone who is familiar with and loves Harmony). I don't think it is much of an improvement upon his original version, especially considering that if you look through the archives here on the Café, you will see that someone came up with a way to have any suit freely named with the deck tabled from the start, and nothing looking fishy when they go through the deck. I was hoping for that in Resonance, but I don't think the slightly revised handling is a major improvement.
With that said, if you are not familiar with Harmony, then this is totally worth it- it's fantastic. |

Same as Luke's essentially. Michael Murray has a nicer version of this. It's in his new release. A completely different take.
Resonance is good BTW. I would recommend it. |

I'm thinking 'Spiral Principle' By Steven Leathwaite. Could be wrong though.
