Looking to see if anyone knows the original creator for a bit of business.
I will be taping my Christmas Magic Show on December 22nd for my 7th DVD release which will be sometime next year. I have been working feverishly on this project and I will be sharing all my best Christmas magic routines. I have been using a bit of business for years in my Christmas show and I always thought it was the genius of Mark Lewis but he has just told me it is not his. I want to use it on my DVD but, of course I want to give proper credit to the creator. In short: I saw Santa walking down the street. I KNOW it was Santa because he had a black beard. The children shout out "WHITE BEARD!" Oh sorry, yes, Santa has a WHITE beard. Well I KNOW it was Santa because he had a BLUE suit on. Kids shout out "RED SUIT!" The kids shout out after each of these next lines to correct you: He had a BIG bag of rocks! He was getting into his truck to drive all around the world! that's right, santa drives a sleigh, pulled by 9 tiny dogs. Ruff ruff! Reindeer, right! And there was one very special reindeer and he had a blue nose, and his name was Alex. Alex the blue nosed reindeer. Does anyone know the creator of this great bit of business? Thanks, Tommy James

YES!
You have slightly different lines than Karrell Fox used, but, it is essentially his "Santa monolog"! He shared it with me, many (perhaps 30+) years ago. I've used it many times, and, it ALWAYS "plays". Thanks for crediting!

I've heard it before and laughed at it, but unlike Dick I had no idea where it came from. The guy I saw use it at a lecture (I can't remember who) implied it was his.
Now that I have been reminded I might try it at my gigs this afternoon and see do Irish children respond. It might be a good bit for my elf puppet.

The dialogue was decribed in a book by Karrell Fox, if I remember it right it was in his book "CLEVER... LIKE A FOX".
The dialogue is great and children love it. Don't know if Karrell Fox invented the dialogue. |

I used it in a vent routine today. It went over well. Looking forward to messing with this over the coming weeks.

Based on this table of contents, it might be in "Another Book":
http://magicref.tripod.com/books/foxkarrellanotherbook.htm I'm guessing, because I don't have the book, but it looks like it's called ""A Kristmas Karrell". That site lists the contents of "Clever...Like a Fox" and there's not a section on kids magic. |

Tommy, if you use any of our Christmas music tracks on your DVD, I hope you will also give Leslie and me proper credit as the composers.

Dick Williams also has a version of this routine on his video, "Magic In Focus."

Sure thing Bill!
The video shoot went excellent. The only mis hap was, I forgot to load my bunny before we began and I had to go behind my case (Not out of full view) to load it as I was speaking. Hey, the perks of filming live! Filmed the instructional DVD yesterday and I'm hoping to release this before the end of March to give people a head start on putting together new routines for next Christmas season. This is absolutely the best Christmas show I've ever put together. I'm so happy with it!

Loads of bits-of-business Hoping to release it @ April so entertainers can take the rest of the year to obtain props or add some of these routines to their Christmas shows without having to rush. This show was so much more fun for me this year than any other Christmas season as I put so much time and thought into the show , more so, because I knew this DVD will be viewed by other entertainers for many years to come.

Looks like a winner! I used Christmas Wishes for a Breakfast with Santa event at the local Technical College, and it was very well received.
