To some degree it is but I believe this guy is known for finding others ideas before they are lost. This is a bit different than Steve's his the box actually would float. This one you are actually floating inside of it. To me it is the same idea just a different presentation. But no surprise that they are so close this guy makes the PB&J effect too but I'm not sure if Metatempirical gave it's blessing.

Fearson's had two stages. first you just float inside, then you attach the safety belt and then the box goes up as well.
so then, yes, ripping off others. |

It does not appear to be a rip-off of Fearson to me. I see a COMPLETELY different method being used.
