This is absolutely outrageous. Is Mark Zuckerwhatever really this stupid?

Yet the article doesn't even use the name that Facebook has banned. Pot calling the kettle? It does say that the pub was named after a black cockeral, so we can guess the name. Still....

Clean them specs, Jeff. Second paragraph, first sentence:

In Nov., Lee Garrett, the manager of the 175-year-old Blackcock Inn, received a message from Facebook, saying that his account had been suspended for "racist or offensive language," he told The Independent in an interview.

(Emphasis added.)

As a fly angler and fly tyer, black cock is a highly sought after material and is featured in many classic patterns.
In North America certain words arent used much any more because of the tittering that ensues.
But there are some places in the world where you can still call a male bird what it is- a cock.
And cocks come in many different colours.
The Blackcock Inn is a fine name for an establishment.
Shame on Facebook.

As you'll see below, jungle cock is also desirable.

Nothing ridiculous about it, particularly if you read the last two paragraphs of the article. The owner of the business made the mistake of opening a personal Facebook page rather than a business Facebook page. The filters for personal pages caught the offending phrase, which violated Facebook's terms of service. As the article notes, the business owner opened a business page on Facebook under the pub's name, and all is now well.

Yes. I read it all.
Sorry, I should have said, in my opinion, it's beyond ridiculous.
