Hampton Ridge or Royal Magic (it's the same material) have a very good beginning video/DVD. Teaches all the basics from vanishes, productions, 2 in the hand one in the pocket and more. Also it's inexpensive.

I have the 25 tricks with sponge ball video. And it is great for beginners and a great price as well.

That is the one I have. I got it a long time ago and it helped me out when I was beginning with the balls.

Recently I got Jay Sankey's earplugs DVD. I am also just a beginner with spongeballs, and looked all over for good sources to learn from. The Sankey DVD teaches you twelve useful basic slieghts and then shows you four routines that one could use to get started. The DVD comes with four earplugs and a jumbo earplug. I like how the earplugs are different, they are funny, they make sense to the audience, and how they handle.
