That's interesting Keith because I had just stumbled upon those tonight, while looking for something else, and I thought those looked great.

I've used them. I bought mine from Midwest Magic, they had a special some months ago that if you buy a dozen, they'd lower the price. An excellent deal considering the quality.
They handle much like Nielson (sp?) coins and are as thin, yet have a resemblance of "proof" coins. Beautiful. The edges are milled nice and sharp and it's not difficult to backpalm all twelve. All in all I'm very happy. I primarily use them for my Miser's Dream routine but have from time to time played with them for "split fan" productions. Years ago I used Magic City coins as they were a little thicker and made a good sound when dropped in my bucket, but these are almost as loud when they hit the bottom and I can palm 12 comfortably whereas the Magic City coins, being a little thicker, ten was my usual number. |

I bought 10 on ebay to one of the Chinese suppliers, several sell palming morgan coins, they are very nice, thin and with milled edges, attracted to magnets and very inexpensive.

Kenedho, I bought 10 Morgan replicas coins that are attracted to magnet from lus9188 and 10 palming Morgan coins also attracted to magnets from aobostore, both from China in ebay. Either set was around $12.50 shipping included
Caveat: I did not do any further research than looking at feedback and bought from the cheapest at the time. Another person that I bought from, is tinuecon, also on ebay, he is in the US, and he sells split Morgans (replicas), I bought a set that contained an expanded shell, 2 split coins and 3 regular Morgan coins, all were replicas as well. Very nice coins. Hope this helps |

You can try some foreign coins, they come in all sorts of sizes, thickness, shapes. Plus you can make up and tell a fun story of how you came to acquire the coin during your performance.

Depending on your taste for Chinese coins (with holes), you could use some of those.
Feng Shui coins can be found with an easy search online, and tend to be very thin, usually about 1mm. https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/feng-shu......7019.jpg They're pretty easy to find in bulk/cheap. It might be a little harder if you need a specific size. |

The more it shines, the better the reaction. consider investing in few Silver rounds, and use them in your show- its super shiny material I would never go back using regular coins. the only thing is they are 1 oz each.
I been trying to get 1/2 oz silver rounds that has the diameter of a full oz 39-40mm, so it will be half as thin coin as the 1oz. so far no one is mining this. if anyone know such a mint/coin. please let us know. |
