I opened it to see the exact measurements, as I had been playing with a similar method, and I wanted to see how my measurements compared to the ones used in Space Time. Not to hijack this topic, but I had to remove Holered, as it was unoriginal. Returning to Space Time, once you understand the method behind it, you should be able to construct one pretty easily. If you need any help with the measurements shoot me a PM.

Thanks for your clarification , at first I'm really curious why you went to take apart your perfectly constructed gimmick ( as some received ones that's not well aligned ) , but it makes sense now .

Anyway , for Holered , I highly respect your honesty , I look forward to your next release .

There was a production problem with some Space Time gimmicks, they were made completely wrong.

All of our stock was replaced today so all the ones we have in stock are good, I've checked them all and they work fine.

Now I've tried good ones the trick is brilliant and very easy to do.

We have them listed here http://www.saturnmagic.co.uk/saturn-magi......ick.html

I would have thought so. The distributor has been quick to deal with this situation and has replaced any mis-made cards.

Merchant of Magic have checked all their stock and have replaced any defective gimmicks. They have it in stock now here:

If you have received a gimmick that is not up to scratch, just contact the shop that supplied it for a replacement.

If you ordered it from MoM remember that you have up to a year to decide if it's right for you. If you don't think you will use it, just pop it back and choose something else instead. See the site for full details.

Hope this helps

I received a replacement gimmick and it works beautifully!

I think this is the best moving hole effect ever!

(Disclaimer: I haven't seen void, but I have probably seen every single moving hole effect prior).

Smart move, tophatter! It seems they have worked out the issues with this. BTW, the problem was not in the design. The design is beautiful! The problem was in the manufacturing of the gimmick. I could have re-built the gimmick myself, but if you pay hard earned bucks for something, it should come well made.

I am ready to order this and I usually use blue backed cards. Does this look as good in the blue backed cards as it does the red backed cards? Does the hole show up much better against the red back or doesn't it make any difference? I guess the dealers would probably be able to answer this question as they have seen both, any help/comments will be really appreciated.

Extremely disappointed with the now 3 gimmicks I have received. Being careful not to expose........ First one, I had half holes, second one was partially separated and the third one a blind man could see what was going on because of bad colouring.

I am not an arts and crafts guy by any stretch of the imagination but I have made 2 of my own and it works perfectly. one Utilising a D**b** D**k*r D**k and a Sharpie and the second made with Bee's and a sharpie.

I will keep the last one I got, cause I like the idea and so feel it only right that I have paid something for the idea. I just think the manufacturing let the product and Tom down badly. Without getting a better way to manufacture the gimmick, it would maybe have been better to sell the trick with instructions to make them yourself, imho.

I have a red one and I'm happy with it. Wizard Product Review recommended blue. Perhaps blue would be better, but red seems fine to me. After using it a bit, I will take it apart and build a replacement myself as I think I could make it as good or better by taking my time.

I have personally checked all ours before shipping and they were all ok and working as they should.

I disagree with your comments about this, I have one myself and think it is very good.

No it is unworkable. Half a hole if you're lucky, or the whole gimmick gets stuck in transit. There is no way you could perform this live without fear of exposure. It's terrible. Why don't you read the other comments? I'm not the only one.

There were a good number of these made wrong which had all sorts of problems.

I know yours was ok as I checked it myself.

You will find the secret to this is finding the correct finger position and it will works every time, it may also helps if you readjust your finger a little each time.

I can't recall if it tells you that on the video but it seemed a logical thing to do when I understood how it works.

I've now got it so I can keep my finger in one place, but when I first started it would move out of place and then it was difficult to make the move.

Understand how the gimmick works and you will find the natural movements needed to move it correctly, it does take a bit of practice but not much.

My gimmick worked perfectly, it takes practice and muscle memory to get this right

Creator: Tom Elderfield
Publisher: Murphys Magic
MSRP: $ 25
Skill Level: All
DVD Run time: 46 minutes

Type of effect: card magic moving hole routine

Manufacturer's Write Up:

In the world of physics, there are discoveries being made daily that are going to shape the future of humanity. Most of these wondrous discoveries we cannot see or feel. That is, until Tom Elderfield punching holes in playing cards and instantly moving them through the woven fibers right in front of you.

Space Time is Tom's latest marvel, where he places an open hole into a playing card, then the hole jumps around the card as if he's warping the fabric of space time itself. Unlike previous hole plots, you can clearly show both sides of the card between each phase. With a wave, it will seem as if you instantly healed those voids in the card as if you turned back the clock, restoring the card to pristine condition.

Test the boundaries of this unexplainable physical paradox as you shock your spectators with Space Time by Tom Elderfield.

How accurate is the ad copy? This is what happens

What's in the box? Complete well made gimmick and download code

Key points:

No sleight of hand required and it is fun and easy to perform.
Instant reset
Real hole in the card - see right through
No setup
Hand-crafted gimmick with attention to every detail
Online Tricks, routines, handlings and instructions included

How are the production values: Great, HD, multiple camera angles and everything you'd expect from Murphy's Magic

Is it well made: Yes, so glad I don't have to make this myself

Is it well taught: Chris Oberle runs over everything you need to know. He gives you both studio and live performances and very informative studio explanations.

My thoughts (what I personally liked/disliked):

Storage? Does it "pack flat?" Gimmick is a single card

Does it "play big?" you're warping the fabric of time! Of course this plays big. This is a real brain fryer.

How practical is this in the real world? (can it really be done?) I suppose there could be some angle issues and perhaps some equivocate comes in play depending on your routine, but there are no performance or venue limitations.

How original is this idea? I first remember seeing this effect as Hollow by Menny Lindenfeld

Overall score: 9/10

Mine has been assigned to the bottom drawer, only to be replaced by Matrix 2. Matrix blows this out of the water. I've ordered another from Mickael as a spare. The make up of the gimmick is nothing short of amazing.
