We kick 2016 off on rather a sombre note as we discuss the untimely passing of David Bowie, the main topic of our Christmas Special.
The Mystic Menagerie team also reveal their predictions for 2016 and most of them are not good! We turn the depressing mood around though with two amazing interviews from the world of music as we share ghost stories with pop sensations Right Said Fred and author and member of the cult band The Chrysanthemums, Terry Burrows. So join us for another 4 hours of sea monsters, Planet X, The Rendlesham Forest Incident, film reviews – The Bababook, The Lobster & It Follows, music from Ramases and much more! Happy New Year to all and let's hope none of our predictions for 2016 happen! Darkly Dan, Freddie & Nathan http://www.themysticmenagerie.com/?name=......0116.mp3 |

Halfway though and it's brilliant, as usual. Loved the Right Said Fred interview. Each episode is better than the last. Thanks for keeping up the great quality shows and for granting me the status of Sareatanist Neophyte!

Thanks for your kind words! Glad you're enjoying it. The RSF interview is one of the best we've done on the show.
We've got some goodies lined up for the next one I think you'll enjoy. |

I finished the episode and had a question. I really love the mystically-oriented music discussions and was wondering if you could maybe look into Graham Bond. I had his "Holy Magic" album years ago and loved the Golden Dawn inspired theme of it. Unfortunately, an acquaintance lifted it and I never found another, but I remember it being very trippy, though, and was wondering if you and your knowledge of esoteric music might be able to perhaps do a segment on him sometime?

I've just found it on Apple Music so will give it a good listen now. Thanks for that!
Talking of Apple Music, you can listen to everything Ramases released on there. There was a box set released a few years ago called 'Complete Discography' which includes both albums and the singles he released in the late 60s as well as some rare stuff. |

Exactly! And on the show, Nathan predicted a cosmic event of some kind and it looks as if he was right!

A very entertaining episode. Thank-you. Right Said Fred was great and the story of Ramases guitar was very cool. It sounds like on of the tales I make up in my little performances.

I've heard a little of all of them! I put them on just as I get in bed for the night. I usually fall asleep a few minutes in, but all the content pipes into my subconscious. I keep going back and re-listening to all the episodes and there's always something new hiding in each of them for me. I do have my favorites like the group summoning of 3 complete brigades of shadow people. I'll skip an hour in tonight for some more of episode 17!! Thanks for putting these together guys. (PS not just your podcast that puts me to sleep, they all do! Besides if I did make it through all 4 to 6 hours the sun would come up!)
P.S. Brynmore if you see this, I always skip your intro music, too intense for late night! |

I didn't think we would have such a relaxing effect on people!
I wrote and performed the MM intro music and if it's that which is too intense then I'd better prepare you for the song we play at the end of the latest show! We will have some reports from the ECSS in upcoming episodes and some really great interviews. The Right Said Fred one in the latest show is a must listen! Lovely blokes with some great ghost stories and thoughts on the paranormal. |
