Greetings,
I have been randomly performing a “dove resurrection” for the past 5 years. My last dove via dove bag is produced dead and lifeless. I look sad and worried and I place him in a stool in full view of the audience. I continue with my show and perform another effect but the audience is usually mortified at the sight of the dead dove. So I look at the dead dove, walk over to it, the dove has been in the stool for about 5 minutes, I wave my hand over him and I bring him back to life. My question is, is this someone’s signature piece already or can I claim it is mine? G0THIKE |

Do you have a method for sale on this. and yes, I have heard of the exact effect before on the Café, it could have been you talking about it though!

It was me who mentioned a dove resurrection that I only do rarely on certain shows.
Before I would topit a realistic looking stuffed dove that I modified so it can have a moveable head and then I produced a dove out of my sleeve at the same time. It kind of worked sometimes. Looked funky though. But since I have a way better method that I am keeping to myself. That I figured out a few months ago. But this isn’t an effect for anybody, I have a certain character or theme that I do random shows with. G0THIKE |

Gothike,
From your description of the effect the way you use it is not anyone's signiture routine I've ever seen. (That is not a flawless appraisal!) However, the effect itself probably predates written history. I don't think I would feel safe ever claiming the basic effect. That does not mean that you are not due recognition for what you do. Why not write it up as a routine and publish it, if you feel that some satisfaction to you would come from that recognition? There are plenty of publishing opportunities today in magic. Most do not pay well at all but that may not be your objective. There are many honorable objectives. The best reason for doing anything is your own. Good Luck! Bob Magic By Sander |
