Yeah, it takes all kinds. Naturally you need many quick or instant reset effects in your arsenal if you do strolling. But there are certainly times when a one off has it's place.
So now you just need to decide if this effect is the one that you want to use to fill that need. Remember also that probably 98% of magic consumers are hobbyists performing for family, friends, co-workers, etc. Quick reset is not nearly as important in that case and I think that is Rick Lax's primary market (as it is with most dealers/creators) although he certainly puts out great effects that are well-suited for strolling pros too. |

Watching it now.
Brilliant stuff as always from Rick. The force is genius. The set up doesn't bother me as it took me all of two mins to do whilst watching the video and that will just decrease with time as one remembers the order. Amazingly good value. Can't wait to try it out. |

Did I miss something or did Rick not explain what happens if they cut to the force card? I feel like that's a strong possibility since it acts kind of like a b******* c****.

This is, in my opinion, is well worth it It's a nice effect & easy to do. However, if you can't do a decent false shuffle and or a good false cut etc you might wanna take the time to learn one because it adds to the effect for sure. Rick does teach a basic false shuffle. I use something else & I mix face down. Also, even tho its a full deck set up, I think its very easy to recall the setup due to the way He's constructed it.
I really like it. It's just an interesting type of effect to watch in my opinion... I will mostly perform this as a one off or lead into a short set. Thanks Rick Best to all, Bobby |

I don't think Rick covers cutting to the card reveal, or if he does it is very quickly.
I assume you'd just have to modify the effect to fit, which may even be better. AFA the setup, it's easy to remember because you're not really dealing with individual cards but rather blocks of cards. And once you understand the concept it's pretty easy to remember. I think it's a nice opening effect with a kind of quirky effect that most will never see coming. Of course it would also be simple to do a deck switch and ring it in while you're getting out the post it notes and writing the prediction. Nice time delay factor so I think putting the deck in your pocket for a moment would make sense and therefore fly by most specs. So it could be a middle effect without much trouble other than carrying around a second deck. |

I don't think its ideal if they cut directly to the card as you want that moment where you vanish the Post It note first... I came up with a good solution though- PM me and I'll share.
I find it a bit surprising it wasn't covered in the video as just playing around with the deck, I actually cut to it often since as I mentioned it acts like a BC. |

I'm loving this idea of this effect. The video seemed a bit long, and Rick covered most everything, but I don't think he covered what to do if the last Ace (before the final bank) is cut to. I'm guessing it's the same procedure as if the first ace was cut to.

It's hard not to like Rick Lax, but good Lord ... 9 out of 10 of the things released with his name on it is a regurgitation of an existing effect with some minor change. How does this warrant asking someone to spend money on it, most likely for the second time? Look down his Penguin Magic list, and it's full of things like Penguin Monte (wtf?), Bitcoin, Soul Paper, Haunted Deck, Cookie Bite, Whitewash, etc, etc, etc. It's insane. Is this how it works? I can take an effect that belongs to someone else, make a minor change, and sell it in an instructional video?
It gets to be a bit much. |

I love to watch Rick's enthusiasm with his videos , can't help but smile .
For the record , I do not own the effect but did enjoy the premise which is often worth more in value than the method . With a little thought you can remove the full stack , thereby allowing you to mix the cards and allow the spectators to mix the cards Certainly handy to be able to show all the faces of the cards on the table at the start of the effect Be able to have the spectator cut to a random point in the deck , the deal a random number of cards at which point the last card turned over has the post it note on it. Deck still good to go for rest of set or reset in seconds Not sure what to do with the effect now because it never existed without seeing Rick's . Shall see if Rick is interested , if not shall store the effect away in my book of effects Andrew |

I bought this and tried it a few times. I think Rick's overall trick is terrific, it's worth it and I'm glad I got it. I really think the f**ce is brilliant, but...
I'm still not 100% sure of the reveal. I'll try not to expose anything, but I want to point out what I consider a bit of a flaw. Having the prediction and the selection show up at the same time is a bit weird, a number of people have reacted poorly to it. Maybe it's too much to think about all at once... "A post-it? On a card I've not seen before? Huh?" Others have confused the method for getting the selection with the selection itself, "No, that's not my card - it was the other one!" Getting to the selection might work better with a different revelation. |

Did anyone noticed the flaw in the video during the stacking?
Take a look again and you will see it is right after the 9 of clubs card,he said 8 which show the 8 with 10 hearts card. Layer on when he shows the spread the 10 of hearts is in place.. Tricky Ricky |
