As we all know that it's the routine that makes the a trick worth performing. One of the first trick was a staple and still is in my routine is the egg bag. Pack small play big and a lot of fun with the children.
Back in 1980 Supreme Magigram Vol 13 published a very fine routine from a great Cuban Children's Entertainer name (Luis Gavilondo) who now resides in Europe. The routine I do at present is quite different from this one. Anyone interested in having this please P/M me and I will get back to you. Tricky Ricky |

Two little bits I've done with the 'egg bag "its my 'lunch bag" and I say "(a list of snak foods-) I'm on a diet" - producing egg(wooden) say its 'hard boiled'and I softly tap on the vol. head , spreading my fingers- making it feel like an unboiled egg-- L-O-L -- when I ask vol. where do eggs come from?? -I say "PUBLIX??(or local grocery store)"as if 'thats what they said.' Ralph(Russo)Rousseau -- in the 50s-70s So. Calif- we were known as 'Entertainers to the Children of the Stars' Bev.Hills-Hollywood -etc. Now retired in central Fl. HAVE FUN. (pm me???)

In my routine the kids do some handling of the blown egg. When I occasionally get a comment about it's light weight, I tell them it's because it's not a chicken egg, it's a duck egg.
If I could only do 2 routines, they would be the egg bag, and the miser's dream. Love em both. |

Ricky was kind enough to send me a copy of the routine, which I read last night.
Not only is the routine fun, but it is seems to be designed to involve the entire audience . It also has a twist in it with an extra ball that I haven't seen before. Thanks Ricky, I enjoyed it and it started the creative juices flowing. I suggest that if you do, or want to do, the egg bag for kids, that you send a pm to Ricky. |

This is the thing I love about magic. To each his own. I have several egg bags, and a misers dream. I just can't seem to get into them. Every now and then I'll pull out one or the other, mess around with it and put it back again.

I love that you are not stuck with just using an egg. I use Xmas lights, rocks crystals... Allows for different and creative presentations.

Ricky,
I thought it was quite good. I'm not usually impressed with magic routines that are tipped in magic publications, but that routine really stood out and I can see why you like it so much. Gerry |

Misers dream was mentioned - I use it as a Bucket from MY wishing well- "anyone have a wish?- throw it my way -" so I catch them in the bucket - then I have a few in my hand and let them pour from a kids nose -"a lot of wishes-" -- for adults - "I have to collect an Entertainment tax " and away I go through the audience-including the nose bit. Have fun Ralph(russo)Rousseau

Hi Russo.
This is a post on egg bag. I'm interested in your thoughts on the Misers Dream, maybe you can create another post and I will chime in---I have a lot to say about the misers dream. Tricky Ricky |

I requested this from Ricky about a week ago and have carefully read through it and did a walk-through type of practice. I really like this and I see a lot of potential. I have not had an opportunity to actually perform it yet but I plan to at an upcoming Easter gig in March. I think this will be a big hit!
Thanks for sharing Rick. |
