I have to agree with Dan. For close up I like coins across. If I have some room, 3 Fly.

Mike,
By that standard levitations would be the least magical of all effects. No argument here! Mike |

Ask Jerry Andrus about suspensions and Levitations!
I also prefer a coins across in close-up situations. Jonathan's thoughts on his coins across routine intrigue me though . I agree with Mike that the element of mystery is removed from the modern 3 fly effects. Perhaps a look back can lead us to the future? |

Dean Dill has come up with an original presentation for what is often called "3Fly"... you gotta see him do it.

I'm curious about Dean's presentation for his version of VCA.
Is he working from the routine Kenner published? Re: levitations... For me they come in two flavors 1) Something becomes weightless or flies 2) Admiring the invisble forklift. I would clasify (1) as close to an animation effect

I was speaking with a friend at work and he asked about David Blaine and the levi.
Of all the stuff he's seen that was the thing that stuck with him. Laymen like the levi and they love "Flying". No matter what we think... and most laymen could care less about Jazz Aces. Perhaps laymen don't know what's really magical? |

3 fly is much more magical as it happens right under the specs noses. I personally have a mixed routine, using Kenners, Hoosers, and little things from McClintock. All are excellent.

Eddy, what parts of the published routines did you like? What were you looking to accomplish with your version of the visual coins across (VCA) effect?

I like Troy Hooser's Redirected Coins Across which is a 3 fly but in a different style. I also like coins to glass which is a coins across but to a glass. I don't really like a regular coins across to much but I will on occasion perform Mr. Clean Coins Across in an impromtu situation.
