Most definitely a rich person's problem that I won't have to contend with. Smile

Back in the day people thought that when you hung up the phone then no one could still hear through the mouthpiece ... Nothing was further from the truth. The powers that be could still hear everything the microphone picked up. There was little need for the PTB to bug anyones home unless they wanted to hear something out of earshot of the land line. I learned this early on ... I'm sure that's why I'm so skeptical today. Smile

We bought a Samsung Smart TV last fall. We bought the webcam that attaches to it so we can Skype with family back home. Ironically the camera lens is behind a shutter that must be physically slid open for the camera to see. I thought it a nifty little feature in case somebody could remotely activate the cam all they'd see is darkness.

We'd heard about the voice recognition's ability to capture and transmit conversations, so we disabled the feature.

Oh yes, they'd like you to THINK you disabled it!

We've turned the table on Samsung and now listen to everything the TV says...

You just say out loud, "Disable the listening function"

Open the Pod bay doors, HAL.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

From a Prosecuting Attorney .... I assure you .. it's true. Simply pushing down the little buttons didn't totally disconnect the microphone.

Can you show us anything but an anecdotal story and your assurances?
