Description here: https://ientertainer.net/store/docc-hilf......efunkick
Bought this the other day and I really like this. This routine can play for close-up to stage. Would even be good for walk-around/table hopping. Basically, you have the spectator shuffle the cards. You take the cards back and place a rubber band around the deck so no cards can be moved, added or taken away. You look to your left and offer three spectators to peek at the top card. You explain that you are going to pseudo-hypnotize and implant a thought into another spectator. You have another spectator take a deep breath and close there eyes and when they are instructed, to open their eyes and peek at the same top card. They do so. You ask the spectator what card he/she saw? They reply, "The 8 of Hearts". The other three spectators look at each other in disbelief as all three of them reply that they saw the Jack of Spades! You prove that you successfully implanted the imagine of the 8 of Hearts to the one spectator. But wait- the audience wants more proof- so you remove the rubber band from the deck and begin showing ALL the cards to everybody. The top card IS the Jack of Spades! You go through the WHOLE deck and there are ONLY 51 cards in the deck! The 8 of Hearts is missing from the deck! Before the routine even began you placed an envelope on the table in front of everybody and did not touch it the whole performance. You have the spectator pick up the envelope and on the face down side of the envelope is written, "I will make you THINK you saw the 8 of Hearts"! If that's not crazy enough, the spectator opens the envelope and removes one card that has been in the envelope the whole time- the 8 of Hearts! I really can't wait to perform this and think this is fantastic. Very excited to start performing this! RNK

I did forget to add that when you are showing the cards you show the fronts and backs of all the cards!

Hi RNK,
Why is this so expensive?

Did you make your own gimmick card? If so how difficult? Anyhow it's too expensive IMO.

I am a big fan of Docc's work but I am on the fence about getting this one.
It is great to see the reference to the original routine from the Jinx. However, the additions found in the description of TeleFUNKick are found in a Bob Cassidy manuscript when discussing the same routine (which I hope is credited). In fact, Bob even takes it further in my opinion. The only mystery in this release thus far is the update to the gimmick from the original routine and I really doubt that justifies the asking price. With that said, I am sure Docc's insight is valuable on both the routine and performance. But again, if one is familiar with the routine in the Jinx, and has read Bob Cassidy's notes on it, I highly doubt it will be worth 80 (or even 60) bucks. If this had been priced the same as a Third Man Mentalism release, I would have jumped on board. If I am missing something, I appreciate some clarification. If it turns out that the updates is in fact worth the asking price, I will more than likely jump on board |

The video shows no demo at all, just pure hype. I cannot believe that he's charging 70 Bucks. There must be some mistake.

I do not have the JINX collection but after doing a little research I will be picking this up. For $15.00 you can't beat it. So as far as Bob's thoughts on this routine I cannot comment. I will say that I to was a little shocked at the price for this but really was attracted to the effect. So I decided to buy it now while it was $59.00. And yes, part of me was still hesitant to purchase even at $59.00. But I do not purchase a lot of individual one trick items anymore and thought that I am just going to do it and did! Matter of fact I got a little purchase happy and recently purchased a few items, lol. Anyway back on topic. I will say Docc mentions that his gimmick design is new and has never been created before. I think the strength of the gimmick is that after the effect when you remove the rubber band you can clearly show all the cards, front and back, one by one. And yes, you can have the spectator shuffle the deck before you place the rubber band around the deck and begin the routine.
Those familiar with Docc's demos know that you never see a clear cut demo of the effect. Why? Not sure and I have always wondered. I do think it's part of his marketing tactic. People know Docc and know about his success. Docc knows this to so I think for the high price items that really shouldn't be priced that high, showing a demo would lower the sales. Though another reason I think we don't see a demo of the effect is that Docc values his performance style and wants everyone to come up with their own presentation. This is my opinion. Now I will say I have purchased a few items from Docc that I thought were priced very fairly! And Docc is very generous at times if you are on his mailing list with some crazy sales. For example- I purchased his effect MIRROR MIRROR for $9.00 that is now on sale for $49.00 but is originally $99.00! As far as pricing, a little while back I purchased Silent Messenger from Docc for the sale price and was not real happy with the content versus what I paid. I definitely feel it's not worth $249.00! That being said, yes, lately Docc's prices have been somewhat high IMO. Though I do feel you get solid working material with the majority of Docc's items. So after writing my opinion on Docc's pricing, the question remains- Is TeleFUNKick worth $59.00? That will be determined after I perform it. I do have a feeling that this is going to play very strong. Obviously, the more seasoned performer you are the more you will benefit from this piece. I really don't think I would pay $79.00 for this. As much as I love the gimmick and handling I don't think it is worth $79.00. Who knows, maybe Docc keeps his prices high to keep the material away from those who are merely curious. RNK

Now- after writing my previous post I clicked on FRED"S MENTAL MIRACLE thread and read this:
"The advertising on this effect sounds very good. Would like to hear any comments from those who have this effect. The $70.00 price seems high for a card trick. Please PM me with your reviews." And IMO, I feel TeleFUNKICK will draw much better reactions than Fred's Mental Miracle. With TeleFUNKick you will have more climax moments in which each of those climax moments feed off each other, becoming stronger and keep building until you get to the final punch which will not only amaze but prove to your audience you performed hypno-telepathic funk on the spectator! Not to mention- you can use TeleFUNKick in any performing environment from strolling/table hopping to stage. So I guess it's not only Docc putting a high price tag on effects using cards. RNK

Thanks for the review RNK.
Can you say if this can be modified to work one-on-one? Ray |

On Feb 26, 2016, lemonjug wrote: Most welcome! As to performing this one on one, you could but I do not think it would be nearly as strong. You could do the routine exactly the same and have the spectator lift the top card- go through the hypnosis theatrics and have them peek again at the top card to see it's the one that you telepathically implanted (transmitted) to them. Show the full deck, show that the top card in fact was the Jack of Spades, showing the fronts and backs of all the cards, showing that there are only 51 cards in the deck. Have the envelope in full view from the beginning and at the end have the spectator read the front of the envelope about "I would make you think you saw the 8 of hearts" then open the envelope to find the actual 8 of hearts. So yes, you probably could but you may lose the full impact potential. But I don't know- maybe some performers would still be able to generate maximum impact one on one. Hope that helps, lol.....

RNK,
Since you own this, just to be clear, does the spectators & subject always lift the card for the peek THEMSELVES, with their own fingers? I don't want any surprises if I'm going to spend $60. Thanks |

I have Harry Anderson's Shadow Card routine.
Where is the difference between TeleFUNKick and Harry Anderson's Shadow Card routine? |
|||||||||
RNK Inner circle 7493 Posts |
Marqus, yes they lift the card with their own finger.
Dj, this is so much easier and more deceptive than Harry's shadow card. You cannot show every single card openly front and back with Harry's gimmicked card like you can with Doccs gimmick.

Did anyone have trouble downloading this. It simply wont download. Sent a message to Docc but no reply as yet. I am looking forward to using it as I have a particular routine where something of this nature would be perfect.
