Another thread got me thinking about all the jobs I have had and what it took for me to get where I am today.

I thought it might me interesting to hear about some of the jobs we all have had to get were we are now, and what types of jobs we may have had in common.

For me, I was a poor college student for 5 years and my main goal was to find a job where I got a free meal.

To date I have had 25 jobs and they are listed below:

Bailing hay and straw. (high school summer)
Dishwasher at a Steakhouse. (high school)
Maintenance at my High School (had to clean up for my own graduation)
Maintenance at College (unclogged a lot of toilets)
Dishwasher at Wendy's.
Groundskeeper at a resort.
Roofer (got fired for falling off the roof)
Deli Slicer (Joes Deli home of the Gator Tail)
Painter (apartments)
Deli Slicer (can’t remember the name had to trim the roast beef lean/ pick out the fat after slicing)
Original Cookie Company (all the free cookies I wanted, a week later I was sick of ‘em)
Plitt Theaters Concessions (Free movies, popcorn/soda)
Recreation Therapist (was paid $8/hour +expenses thought I was living large "1980's")
Pizza Hut (free personal pan everyday)
Winn Dixie produce.
Winn Dixie produce (transferred)
Food 4 Less produce (also known as Piggly Wiggly in other areas)
Wal*Mart cashier.
USAF
AAFES Theaters (while in USAF)
Domino Pizza delivery (while in USAF)
House Painter (while in USAF)
Gov Contractor (after USAF)
Self Employed renovations and landlord. (flipped houses and owned rental property)
Gov Contractor (housing market crashed)

Wow...interesting and got me thinking.

I tallied up 27 jobs (though more. I counted Officer in US Air Force as 1 job, but have several different positions in my 8 years active duty. And only counted Adjunct faculty as one job, but have taught at at least 6 schools).

List is a bit too long to post. Highlights include:

-Laborer on Pheasant farm (learned how to hypnotize the birds)
- Housekeeper at hospital (which included cleaning ER rooms during big accidents on weekends, and incinerating body parts)
- Street Magician hired for several festivals
- Temp work at chocolate factory (hired to inspect batch of 5 pound chocolate bars that had grease in them. Did such a good job they kept me on to unload trucks full of 50 pound bags of cocoa powder. Had quite a few banana spiders surprise me. Jeffrey Dahmer also worked there and I met in in passing once.)
- Delivery Driver for Coca-Cola (where I once clipped a fire hydrant during a turn)
- Car Salesman (which I really sucked at)
- Women's shoe salesmen (my favorite memory once helping an elderly lady fasten a strap around her ankle when she looked at me and said "Young Man, I like it tight!" I had to excuse myself to backroom to go laugh)

A lot of mine overlapped, not necessarily because of job hopping. For several years I was working full time, National Guard Squadron Commander, teaching part time, and had to take full course load for my PhD, and...oh yeah...had that family thing with kids and stuff. There's always time to sleep when you're dead...

I am a small investor living on a pension.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
