That's right, I'm committed to providing the finest magic instruction on the planet, but I need your feedback to let me know what you like and what I can do better. As you know (for the past couple of years), I've been revising, updating, and modernizing the Tarbell Course by performing & teaching Every Trick in the Book, but lately the reviews have dropped off. I know from my travels around the world, that many magicians are subscribing, enjoying, learning, and performing many of the new presentations I've created. I really want to hear from all of you.
Please post your comments here, and on the Penguin Magic site. I read every one. Plus, your reviews help other magicians make informed decisions about whether or not a particular lesson (or even the whole course) is right for them. Thank you in advance. If you'd like to see all the lessons so far, just pop over to Penguin Magic and search for "Tarbell" http://www.penguinmagic.com/search.php?q=tarbell If you like what you see, I recommend subscribing. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4709 Yes, you'll be starting in the middle, but every lesson contains valuable information and complete routines at a remarkably low cost. Once again, if you have something to say about the project (or a particular lesson), please post it here and on Penguin's site so that others (myself included) may benefit from your wisdom. Thanks! --Harlan |

FWIW, I used to get weekly email updates about the new lesson, but haven't received any for the last couple of months.
Oh, and I'm not even a subscriber! |

Dan - I'm curious if there is an end date for the Tarbell video course? I presume you planned everything out in order to literally cover everything. So I'm wondering if you know how many videos will be released in total, and when the last one will be released?

I have only purchased selected items from the series but always found them very useful and well presented

I have the whole run to date. I subscribed day one. The later videos are much better than the first few. One thing I do wish is that you, them, they, some random intern, who ever, would type up a PDF with time stamps for the lesson so we could scan through it quicker at a later date.

Matt, look back at the older ones in your download list. Someone has been doing exactly what you suggest, and it's worth the time to download them

I've been subscribed since Lesson 23 but I wish that I had subscribed much earlier than that. The lessons are great and I look forward to every other Friday when they turn up.
The subscription at the moment is a great deal; considering you get 2 videos per month which would be $40 for only $10. The content in each lesson is great, even the ones which are more theory than tricks. |

Dan,
I have downloaded those that were of interest to me and I haven't been disappointed. Really good work and I really appreciate what you are doing! Keep up the good work. KJ |

I too have been subscribed since day one. I've really been enjoying them.
It's already been said, but a PDF table of contents or something similar with each lesson would be great. Or even better, a frequently updated master table of contents which lists every trick, which episode, and the time stamp would be fantastic. |

I've been a subscriber since the beginning. Can't imagine how much time, thought and preparation must go into preparing these lessons. You're building a great companion to the book series, Dan. I haven't been able to keep up with viewing and digesting all of the material, but it's a well organized reference work that can be "dipped into" whenever you want some ideas and inspiration on a particular topic of magic. I especially like the way you give your opinions on what is good in Tarbell, as well as what might be improved by a different or modified approach.
My only suggestion would be an occasional bonus reel where you recite some of Dr. Tarbell's worst patter word for word in front of a live crowd that's not in on the joke.

I cannot believe that Dan and his team manage to pull off two of these each month on an ongoing basis with such high quality.
That's like doing a new show with all new material every other week over and over and over. And all we have to do is pay less than 5 bucks a show. That to me is most the amazing feat of all. Seems like it must be a full time job. I really don't know how they keep doing it. Great job Dan! All the hard work and enormous pressure is greatly appreciated. |

Hello Dan,
I have got a selected few, which I was interested in and they are top class. I will be picking up a few more shortly. Keep up the fantastic work.

First off, thank you for all your kind comments. As mentioned, there has been some attempt to provide a "table of contents" with time-stamps for each piece. I'll do some more checking to see where we stand and if we can improve our process.

So, barring any major setbacks, the final lesson should release early Summer 2018. I really do appreciate everyone's support and suggestions... except for reading cringe-worthy patter to an unsuspecting audience... I won't be doing that! This project does require an enormous amount of effort from everyone involved. We actually do a new show EVERY week in order to have real performance footage for each piece! Thanks again for watching and commenting, and I do hope you learn a lot and have fun doing it. --Harlan |

Phew, that's a lot of work. Crazy, Dan, crazy!
I do love the ones I've bought though. Great food for thought in them that can spark an imagination. The biggest thing I don't like about these is they prevent from doing another penguin live. And I would REALLY love to have another penguin live from you. Your two are two of my favorites. |

I would like to know what's coming up in future weeks so I can decide whether to subscribe. For example, I was subscribed last month, phenomenal stuff, but am on the fence about resubscribing. Everything you do is fantastic, but a lot would never fit my style, or involves craft skills WAY above my level.
You should also see if you can team up with someone to produce some of your gimmicks at a discounted price. I loved that block trick you did recently, but there's no way I could ever make that... |

I find these as the ultimate reference source to go along with the printed lessons..Nice to see how its suppose to look when done correctly...I have found a couple things that I was doing WRONG and had to learn them again the correct way. I appreciate your dedication and hard work putting these out...

I've subscribed from the beginning and feel it's a tremendous value even on episodes that don't interest me. My only suggestion would be the pdf as well, it's annoying having to search for specific effects. Tremendous work. Highly recommended.

When I first read the title of the this thread I thought Dan was in a mental hospital. I thought, that's impossible, they don't want him there either. ;-)
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.
