I recently purchased a "grab bag" of magic props locally on Craigslist. In the lot were 3 silks (2 black, 1 yellow)but they had plastic rings on the corners of the silks that attached them to each other. The one black silk has a ring that allows the other 2 to be pulled through it. Essentially, this allows the silks to be shown as black, black, yellow or black, yellow, black all "tied" together. I hope that description makes sense. I was just curious if this is for a particular effect. I was thinking maybe some version of 20th century silks, but I'm not sure if I am on the right track? Any thoughts from the experts? Thanks.

It's the 'Acrobatic Silks without the "stick". I don't remember the name of the "catalog" name of the prop,

I think Marconick marketed the effect... originally. I t was knocked off by several dealers under different names.

Ok great. Thanks so much. Any sources for the handling of the effect?

Looks like you have Abbott's Odd Triple silk trick.

http://www.abbottmagic.com/Abbotts-Odd-Triple-ABBodd3.htm

Contact Abbott's and see if they will send you a PDF, usually $4 for the instructions.

Yes, the concept is by Marconick. A more advanced and complete version, with several additional effects, can be found here:
