A story I found interesting. I was talking with my grandfather who is now 93 about hypnosis and he told me a story of when he was a young man he saw a stage hypnotist for a Rotary Club fundraiser and the story he told me was shocking. In addition to some age old material (on a plane. Getting hot getting cold. ) he described the hypnotist guiding his subjects through the plane crashing and climbing for life rafts after impact and being very scared. Another man was chased by a lion and apparently jumped and climbed a wall at the back of the stage out of fear. He also told me about what was to me a full body catalepsy of a man between two chairs flat as a board but he then had another person sit on them as if the first person was a park bench.
Today's teaching are about the people being the stars of the show, but where is the line drawn on what is entertaining for the crowd or for those involved. Even something like Onions taste like Apples ive seen before or drink this vinegar are Impressive for the audience but have little positive for the person who is hypnotised. We have some really experienced people on the forum so I thought first does this sound credible? Did this kinda stuff happen / maybe still happen? And Id ask has that line changed from when you first began X no. years ago? |

Sure it happened. It probably still happens now. It has always been done by hacks.

But is there any sure shot way to tell an original from an imposter ?
There is no better freedom than choice and no better choice than freedom.
