I apologize.

I had no intention of damaging your reputation and I have always been entirely satisfied with your material.

And I admit that there are several dealers with whom I have experienced nothing but honesty and fair dealing.

I made a blanket indictment that cast aspersions an all, whether guilty or not.

Again, I apologize to you and retract my statement as over-broad.

No, I don't.

In fact, I am dismayed at the widespread misrepresentation that the dealer community engages in when selling magic to the punters (like me). And I am afraid that their practices set the stage for intellectual property theft and cavalier attitudes with regard to what is ethical and appropriate within the magic community (and especially within the hobbyist portion of that community, which I imagine is the greater part of the magic marketplace).

But magic sellers mislead potential clients about their products, don't they?

Oh, well this is a topic unto itself. It's always been around, but the situation seems to be worsening. There's a new breed of product advertising that edits out certain parts of video demos. I've been OK with the guessing game for the past 100 years.....you know...."No threads, no double-sided tape, no magnets, etc." But this editing thing goes past guessing. It's serious dishonesty. You'd think they were selling real estate.
