Does anyone know the procedure of making the japanese throw streamers. I was able to make some but it was a long and tedious process of cutting and rolling japanese paper into 1/8" strips, and cutting them singly using a hammer and cutter and joining them together.

The streamer person - David Cresey makes a new smaller throw streamer that is comparable to the Japanese model. Being they are smaller more can be packet into a production bundle.

email: creskoils@aol.com

No web site, but he displays at all the magic conventions around the country. Telephone: 617-387-3239.

His are cheaper then the import. So you may want to check with him.

Print shops have gillotine cutters for reams of paper that may be able to cut the bundles for you after you wrap.

I tried those guillotine cutters in my friend's printing shop. The rolls I made were a mess after. Maybe I could find smaller machine cutters for these. Thanks for the info wmhegbli.

Try use a household slicer machine.
bundle avthing in a big bundle and slice..
be it electrical or manual type slicer.. bundle up the paper rolls like logs.
lets say 5 rolls per bundle is nice.
then slice with is..
I thought of an idea but never had a chance to try.
you know those ham slicer in supermarket?
you place a huge rectangular tin with meat on it as it will glide back and forth slicing the meat into desire thickness?
that means you gotta hav a bigger bundle for securing it better on the machine..
tell me if its a success

A bandsaw would work too. That is what I use for my long mouth coils

Thank you for the post! I have been looking for a place to get my kabuki streamers in red. I can only find them in white around here. I just left an email for David C.

Thanks!
