That's a wonderful review, Neil. And an intriguing product as well.

Great review, Neil and well deserved. I bought Xpert when it was first released and used to perform it all the time.
It is a versatile tool and I presented routines taught in the instructions both one on one and in front of good sized crowds. My favorite effect with Xpert is the teleportation of a signed coin to an impossible (or at the least highly unlikely!) location. When I purchased Xpert it was before the inclusion of a DVD. Neil, are there new effects/handlings on the DVD that aren't in the original instructions? And did I understand Jeff correctly that the DVD teaches how to make the "special something?" If the answer is yes to both questions I'm going to have to buy Xpert again! Also, all things being equal, I tend to agree with Jeff that you could tip the method and performers would be all the more interested in buying one. Congratulations on a fine review for a wonderful product. And thanks for a nice trip down memory lane! |

Thanks for the kind words, Bill.
In answer to your questions: YES to both! The new release contains several new effects and handlings, plus a complete DIY tutorial (so you'll never be without the Xpert again). And while tipping the method might interest some performers, I'd rather give them the pleasure of being thoroughly confounded by one of the effects before giving the game away P.S. If you ordered the original from Penguin, talk with customer service; the website says they'll give you access to the new video instructions through your account.

I too bought Xpert first time around and loved it. I got a huge amount of mileage out of the coin bend but it's certainly more than just that - there must be loads of possibilities just waiting to be discovered with it. The inclusion of construction instruction in this release is a big draw for me, especially given that price. I'm definitely in for this one.
